Cousins did well enough to get a monster contract as the rookie QB drafted before Haskins.

The record was never that great though.

Don't know how much the coachign staff changed.

Agree 100%. There a plenty of players who have been very successful in the "culture" of the WFT. Can't blame "culture" for bad choices and decisions. That is called personal responsibility. That is all on Haskins not Dan Snyder's "culture."

Chase Young isn’t a QB and he was predicted to be a top 3 pick by every scout and draft analyst.

Show me any draft charts that had Haskins at 15. The WFT coaches and scouts didn’t want Haskins. Kyle Smith was reported to almost throw up in the war room and gave a blistering speech about how terrible the Haskins selection would be for the team at 15.

I think Haskins was overdrafted and thrown into a terrible situation with a coach on the hot seat and a front office that didn’t want him.

Imagine if Rooney forced Colbert to draft Mason Rudolph in the first round and demanded Tomlin play him? …and then a year or 2 later you ask why JuJu and Watt look so much better than Mason?

This is a simplistic view. You are smarter than this.. lol.

The QB position is vastly different from every other position.

Of course there have been successful players. Every team has successful players. How much success has the coaching and franchise had at QB since Snyder has been the owner? How much patience and development have they shown?

This is a stable org? Really?

7 head coaches in 22 years
          record: 149-202-1
          22 starting QB’s in 22 years
only 4 of those QB’s have winning records

Haskins started 11 games … for THREE HEAD COACHES and the OL was ranked 29th when he was drafted.

Anyone who suggest WFT hasn’t been inept as an organization is lying through their teeth.

            Agreed.

Anyone who says the Redskins organization has been a stable organization clearly hasn’t been paying attention.

Daniel Snyder has been a laughing stock of the league on the way he’s ran that franchise since he’s bought it.

Do I think they’ve done better thr last two years? Yeah. Rivera has been a positive but Snyder will interfere at key intervals in their day to day process and will power play the football people ( like he always has .. Mike shanahan for example) and send them back to ground zero.

He’s done it over and over again since he bought them.

He’s a young Jerry Jones in that sense.

And none of that had anything to do with going to nightclubs during a pandemic. Personal choice. Personal responsibility. Did you read about any other WFT player doing that.

Dont question the physical talent but I have serious questions on Haskins mental make up

I think Rivera will have success. He has a defense first mentality which can get you to the playoffs.

He has a lot of power and seems like Snyder is on board for now but history has shown Snyder will probably flex at some point.

As a Steeler fan its kind of ridiculous to talk
about QB’s making bad decisions off the field.

I’m more concerned with his play. Honestly, breaking protocol wasn’t good
but it isn’t a serious offense in my book.

Some Texans broke protocol to attend Watsons party for a restaurant grand opening. It happens. Some people didn’t take Covid seriously.

Watson has definitely shown to make other bad decisions..lol. But the point is bad decisions off the field doesn’t mean you can’t be successful on the field.

I’m not going to write Haskins off until he is released because he has a cannon and a chance to be the next franchise QB.

Snyder flexed on Shanahan. And he ran Gibbs up out of there when he came back. That’s how bad Snyder is. That tells you all you need to know about him.

so did Alex Smith, and he was a QB.

I think its strange to solely pin this on the WFT. haskins has had a lot of WTF moments in his short pro career and has certainly contributed a whole bunch to get to the point of being released

that said, picking him up as a free agent and trying him out is a no brainer based on his talent.
hopefully he gets his head screwed on straight

Haskins has his shortcomings but I don’t think they are career defining.

how much of the blame do you put on haskins?

I put most of the blame on Haskins, to blame the owner for why you didn't bother to learn the playbook is ridiculous.

however, Haskins is still young and deserves a second chance. I'm certainly willing to give it to him as I'm sure most Steelers fans are.

I put about 45% of it on Haskins. I lean more towards the org because 3 coaches in 11 games is a lot for any QB let alone one who probably wasn’t ready to play his rookie year.

and I know players are cocky and think they are ready day 1 to be superstars but we aren’t talking about a player everyone said was a first round day 1 starter.

When the whole organization outside of the owner doesn’t think a QB is worthy of the number 15 pick… maybe he simply wasn’t ready and was thrown into the fire to quickly.

We hear all the time about QB’s who could benefit from sitting for a year or 2 to develop. I think Haskins is clearly one of those QB’s.
