Sorry but you can’t pin everything on Tomlin.Comment

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Comment

That part that’s bizarre is that you believe Tomlin will find and develop our next Franchise QB.
How do you see that happening?
I think your frustration is more with ownership than Tomlin. Not Tomlin’s fault they gave him another contract.
How do you decide it’s time to give up on someone vs give them more time? I bet the Browns wish they held on to Bill B forever. They let a guy some argue is a great coach go too soon.
Did we let BA go too soon?
How do you ever know?
The one thing I suspect is it’s more on your QB than your head coach. And the other side of this argument is Ben hasn’t been good enough to win a SuperBowl and we have to wait him out.
The only way we’ll really find anything out is if Ben leaves and Tomlin stays.
Another thought is how do we even know how Rooney really feels? Maybe keeping Tomlin just sends a signal to the team and future FAs about belief and consistency and we’ll keep some guys like TJ or Minkah that might have left if Tomlin was gone???
Flippy, I thought it was Canada's job to develop our next QB as well as our passing game. That's why the Rooney's hired him isn't it?
And Flippy, I'm not frustrated at all by Tomlin's extension. I've come to understand that the Rooney's are not interested in winning championships..at least not in the immediate present. Their focused on staying 9-8 going forward. Seats and tickets being sold, gear being sold. Etc.Etc. Rooney's are happy with that. And Tomlin should take an extension if they give it to him. Ownership is happy just being simi-competitive team for right now.
As far as when to let go of a guy; well, when you give a guy great playoff teams of his own making for more than a decade and he can't get the job done, that's a hint and a half that this guy can't get the job done when the playoff teams are only separated by the superior/inferior coaching that they have. Tomlin is not an X's & O's type of coach. Thus, he gets hammered by other coaches in the playoffs who are X's & O's type. It's okay. I"m enjoying us rebuilding our team and the creative excuses some make for Tomlin after every face plant at the end of the year.
I think in another 3-5 years, we'll all be on the same page of wanting him gone. I understand it takes others longer to realize things then some.
But for now, we are all happy with another 3-8 years of Tomlin!!!!! Here we go Steelers, Here we go!!!!Comment

The truly fun part is they don't realize how foolish they make themselves look with every post trying to defend non defendable positions."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Extending a coach who has had epic team collapses lately and is 3-7 in his last 10 playoff games? Why? You tell me. Can you? Still waiting....
Isn't winning playoff games with stacked rosters important to you?
Which head coach with this type of record is this tenured? Tomlin's super bowl ring with Bill Cowher's players was ages ago. 2009. It's now 2021 and counting.
And let's not act like not having a losing record in the AFC north means much. We play the Browns and Bengals twice ever year, they suck. So you should be 3-1 or 4-0, meaning you split then next 14 games and its pretty hard not to gave a winning record. Heck you can go 6-8 in the non in Browns and Bengals games and not have losing record. Easily. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

however, I don't do the hiring and firing and neither do you.
so you can complain about Tomlin all you want, it's not going to do any good.Comment

And you can praise and defend him all you want, that isn’t going to change anything either. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment
