I'm in the opposite camp on that one, I think if Ben wins #3, then he tries to tie TB with 4 super Bowl trophies and if they lose, he may call it a career and go into the HOF with 2 SB wins. There's only one guy that knows and he isn't talking about it yet.

Keep the faith, they'll screw it up, they've done it before, they're committed, it can happen again. We now know that Cleveland will be picking 1st and 4th (from Houston) in the draft, Cincy will be picking 12th, and Baltimore will be picking 16th.
Cleveland also owns their own second round pick plus Houston and Philly's second round picks as well.
With a competent front office led by John Dorsey (as opposed to that baseball analytics dude who was played by Jonah Hill in Moneyball), they could potentially do some damage.
They have their choice of QB's at the top of the draft (whoever ends up grading out the highest out of Darnold, Rosen, Allen, etc.) and could come back with Saquon Barkley at #4 (after seeing the impact that a dynamic early RB pick like Zeke Elliott or Leonard Fournette had in Dallas and Jacksonville had as rookies).
They already have a strong OL if Joe Thomas comes back healthy (their interior line featuring Bitonio, Tretter, and Zeitler is solid), plus a promising young TE in Njoku, Josh Gordon looked good in his return, and if fellow Baylor wideout Corey Coleman develops, maybe they'll have something there (maybe they can use some of their plentiful free agent dollars to lure Terrelle Pryor back since he was a much better player in Hue Jackson's system than Jay Gruden's).
On defense, they have some guys that you can build around like Myles Garrett, Danny Shelton, Emmanuel Ogbah, Jamie Collins, Joe Schobert, Christian Kirksey, Jabrill Peppers, etc. They could potentially use their four picks on day two of the draft to supplement the D if they use those top 2 picks on potential franchise QB and RB.
I don't think it will take very long for Cleveland to surpass Cincy in our division if they draft well this year and add some quality pieces in free agency.

Ummm... don't you mean pick 32?The browns have a ton of draft picks and cap space. They are also desperate for a franchise qb. Wouldn’t surprise me if they draft a couple in the first round looking for the savior. As to who they take? Simple. Take the worst one first.
Point being, by pick 31 I’m not sure a Ben replacement is on the board - but like others it’s too early for me to make an objective analysis.

I have no faith in that franchise when it comes to the draft. Hell, they could draft 2 QB's in the top 4 and still pick the wrong onesWe now know that Cleveland will be picking 1st and 4th (from Houston) in the draft, Cincy will be picking 12th, and Baltimore will be picking 16th.

Cant and doesnt have to are very different things.Way too much like Michael Vick; Can't read defenses, arm strength but lack of accuracy...nope. I've seen this type of QB before and I don't want anything to do with those type of QB's. Also, QB's that have that type of running skill for the most part never develop the skill set needed to be a good to great NFL QB. The running thing is too heavily ingrained in their DNA in that they always think their legs can bail them out of any difficulty.
Also, tendency to run isnt a DNA trait...if he wants to be a good QB he will have to be more like Cam Newton or Russell Wilson as a runner and less like Michael Vick. Coaching is everything in that regard. Again, its a time commit but hes one incredible athlete and weve seen QBs be successful at position transitions before, which isnt something to rule out for him either.Comment

would be interested to hear ktrains and shawns thoughts on josh allen and where he might land
i know he didnt have a great year, but looks to have all of the toolsComment

Allen is going to naturally draw Roethlisberger and Wentz comparisons as an athlete for his size, strength, and ability to extend plays.
Unfortunately his accuracy is atrocious, he struggles with decision making...id compare him more to Hackenberg or Mettenberger in that they definitely look the part but they seemed to lack "it" throughout their careers. Allen was dazzling in his bowl game, though...I am not dooming his career by any means, but hes going to go higher than he should based on his tangible skill set and teams looking for a gem. Not unheard of to see a guy be a better pro than collegiate player, especially when playing for a smaller school like wyoming but i just dont know about him yetComment

They are different but the risk is too high. The safe way is to get a QB that isn't that great a runner and who is more a traditional pocket passer. Too many ( in the 90% range) running QB's don't pan out. Newton & Russell and Young are 3 out of a million who panned out. I would not invest in ANY running QB ever. Give me a guy who excels at passing the ball first and formost.Cant and doesnt have to are very different things.

If we win, or even go to the Super Bowl, this year I don't see Ben retiring. He would like to have as many Super Bowl wins as Bradshaw so he is at the top of the records list"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment
