What's all the hype about Fields? If he has so much potential, why do the Bears want to get rid of him? Do we really want another Bears' number one draft pick? QBs are the most sought after position in all of football.

He doesn't have the stats. He's a 4.4 guy and was sacked twice as much as Kenny.

I just don't see what pro Fields people are seeing.
Especially since failed Bears QBs don’t seem to do well here; Mitch Trubisky, Mike Tomczak

It's just like the Haskins situation. Some people think he wasn't given enough chances because of a crap org around him.

KP might have a bad attitude but in this case he was essentially misled, he clearly wants to start, he wasn't going to start in Pittsburgh. I don't know how anyone can defend how this team has handled KP since being drafted, just a complete disaster.
After Wilson signed for peanuts it WAS different. Plans changed. Like I said before, what better a fake competition?

THEY TOLD HIM THE TRUTH when they told him they signed Russell to start days after he was signed.

Yep. Your play determines your stay. If KP had anything close to what looked like young Roethlisberger we're not having this conversation.

Maybe...but if that's the case, you aren't going to trade very much for him.

Probably less than what we got for the Pickett deal. Kenny at least has 2 years left.

CHI wants way more than that. I think they'll wait to see if a team gets desperate after an injury.

If he's trading guys to be petty about where they end up he should be fired.

It should be 99% about return. And maybe 1% about not being in division.

Completely agree. I think the Steelers probably agree, and trading Kenny was a way of hitting the reset button after realizing the past two years were total disasters on offense.

What a waste. I won't remember the 2022 and 2023 seasons very fondly.

If he's not pissed off, that's not a guy that you want as your QB1. No young, first round draft pick that becomes the starter is going to take it well when the team signs his replacement. Ben didn't like it when the Steelers drafted Rudolph.

I think most of the decisions the Steelers made after drafting Kenny, put him in a position to fail. We're now left with a short-term band-aid until we can figure out the future.

Should tell you the org didn't think of Pickett's status as the top QB.

A player's play always forces a team's decision. Just like MRs play at the end of last season forced them to start him in the playoffs.

Everything about our handling of QBs has been a disaster since Ben left. This off-season is a smashing of that big, red reset button.

    Clarification?

Sounds like KP felt he was misled

and how do you not contact the top QB holdover on your roster about such a move? He had to find out about it on social media???
