different sport but JR Smith said a fan told him he was better than Tracy McGrady because he had a championship ring.

JR Smith was like “wtf? I was the 5th best player on my team.. Tracy McGrady was THE MAN on his squad”

SB or sucks is just terrible these days. When fans use championships to try and shut down discussions on player value its hard to take them seriously.

That's ALL on Artie. Is it believable that Colbert NEVER thought of trading Ben in 2015 TEN years after the Steelers last SB win?

The nitpicking is ridiculous on here. Even when we didn’t draft Willis these folks tried to blame Tomlin for not having enough power to draft him. Just weird.

Sure, Tomlin isn't part of the reason why we have failed to win a playoff game in 5+ seasons. With Ben and Colbert gone, his support for a non-losing season goes with them.

He had lost that new car smell years ago, isn't in tune with the NFL, and is now an average head coach. Fans who are okay with 6+ seasons of non playoff wins can cheer his name.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Artie Burns is no longer a Steeler... Do you mean Art II?? Is there a heat advisory or something out west, today??

of course Tomlin is part of the reason why we have failed to win a playoff game in 5+ seasons.

but he's not the only reason...

If we start with the premise that Tomlin is a bad coach, why do we use McVey, one of the best young coaches in the game as a comparison? If we want to talk about how awful he is we should be comparing him to a bad coach, not a good coach, and when he compares poorly then there is a reasonable argument against him.

when that fails, we see points like Tomlin isn't as good as McVey because McVey takes responsibility after his team lays an egg. Is that now the mark of a good coach? If a team goes 0-17 but after every game the coach takes the blame then he would be the greatest coach in the league!

Tomlin gets way too much discussion on this board, despite the fact that a Head Coach should be talked about a lot. However, to blame/credit him for every draft pick, every individual player development, the accuracy of every quote, the given timeline of every injury and how it is reported is ridiculous, and just shows how far people will go to inject him into the conversation.
how is that any different then what we used to see on the trib with cowher?

So true. The level of hatred, name calling and vitriol against Tomlin is pathological for some

They would rather see the team fail if it discredits Tomlin

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

[Idiot Savant definition:A person who exhibits an extraordinary ability in one subject (often mathematics) whilst being mentally retarded in all other fields. A mentally challenged person who is very gifted in one area of activity, e.g. the piano. This condition is associated with autism.]
Once again, it is to laugh... First, that you would even entertain the prospect that you are "the majors," second, that you would attach the word "idiot savant" to me, and then think you would have to define it:
                        "Bwahahahahahaha... what a maroon....
Bwahahahahahaha... what a nincompoop...." -- Bugs Bunny, From Hare to Eternity...

                              I don't think it is.

Which is also why I think people will come to want him back when he leaves. Just like Cowher.

It's pretty unlikely that we'll get a 4th we'll announce average coach in a row when we go back to his the next guy.

But who knows. It was unlikely to get 3 in a row too.
