I believe we know the reason for that and its not because Tomlin is the head coach.

I know there is a portion of fans that always blame the coach for everything but I do wonder if those fans of other teams blame the head coach for a player getting a DUI or an injury being worse than first mentioned after a practice.

The nitpicking is ridiculous on here. Even when we didn’t draft Willis these folks tried to blame Tomlin for not having enough power to draft him. Just weird.

Sure, Tomlin isn't part of the reason why we have failed to win a playoff game in 5+ seasons. With Ben and Colbert gone, his support for a non-losing season goes with them.

He had lost that new car smell years ago, isn't in tune with the NFL, and is now an average head coach. Fans who are okay with 6+ seasons of non playoff wins can cheer his name.

If we start with the premise that Tomlin is a bad coach, why do we use McVey, one of the best young coaches in the game as a comparison? If we want to talk about how awful he is we should be comparing him to a bad coach, not a good coach, and when he compares poorly then there is a reasonable argument against him.

when that fails, we see points like Tomlin isn't as good as McVey because McVey takes responsibility after his team lays an egg. Is that now the mark of a good coach? If a team goes 0-17 but after every game the coach takes the blame then he would be the greatest coach in the league!

Tomlin gets way too much discussion on this board, despite the fact that a Head Coach should be talked about a lot. However, to blame/credit him for every draft pick, every individual player development, the accuracy of every quote, the given timeline of every injury and how it is reported is ridiculous, and just shows how far people will go to inject him into the conversation.

Which is also why I think people will come to want him back when he leaves. Just like Cowher.

It's pretty unlikely that we'll get a 4th we'll announce average coach in a row when we go back to his the next guy.
