In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I only mentioned Sanchez because he ironically threw TDs to known Steeler receivers. Thus the "which QB" question.sigpic

not looking to blame anyone. but an opportunity has arrived.
I see (as usual) some details left out on these stats to further agendas.
here's another one. ow many points was sanchez down going into the 2nd half of that game? think there was any prevent defense going on with the steelers in the 2nd half
as I said.................stay tuned
gonna be a lot fun !!!!!!!!Last edited by NJ-STEELER; 05-19-2021, 09:21 PM.Comment

Turnovers by the QB don't contribute to losses.
It was bad coaching. Or the receiver's fault. Or bad line play.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 05-20-2021, 05:51 AM.Comment

And when you have 5 turnovers, I think it's safe to say execution was a bigger problem than coaching (which was also sub par in that game... Especially re run D as you've pointed out).
I hope that Canada is permitted to do some changes to things like motion, PA passing etc.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 05-20-2021, 05:50 AM.Comment

IMO Ben saved Tomlin as he has 35 with quarter comebacks meaning the defense didn't shut them down and 46 game winning drives meaning he won the game by having the ball last when scoring points. WOW. That magic.
[QUOTE=Captain Lemming;835486]You do know one of those “comebacks” was a 3-0 win right?
>> SO? I'm sure we lost by three points too?
Defense didn’t shut them down? Really?
Bens career season high for comebacks is 5. Rookie season under Cowher and 2008 under Tomlin. Common factor?
>>> So, Tomlin also had the lions hare of these comebacks as an as FYI, Ben never had 5 4th quarter comebacks, you are concussing things with game winning drives ( 46 most of which headed under Tomlin )
Number one defenses, both seasons.
>>I know we used to win playoffs games with Arians and Lebeau ,then they left, check Tomlin's record in the playoffs, If you dare...the coaching under Tomlin picked OC's and DC's clearly was not as good. Don't even there. Tomlin fire are the boogey man to absolve him of blame from his decisions. End of unless you want to start defending Too Haley, and Randy F/
Fun fact. In those 5 comebacks in 2008, the average allowed was 14.6.
>>>> Fun fact, Cowher and Colbert picked some pretty good defender back then, eh? # Mike won with Bill Cowher players, period.
Joel, they weren’t behind because of poor defense, they were behind because offense was so bad they were behind for lack of scoring throughout the game.
Debatable, and you spreading out 15 years. Ward, Miller, Bettis, Faneca, Pouncey, Wallace ( When he was here ) ) were all grade A players for the offense. No rate was this a poor offense. Poor offenses rate in the 20's or 30's if you are talking total yards or points. . Calling the Steelers poor offense is just wrong. Average on 1-2 years would be better, so go cling to that point if you must.
BTW, during that playoff, Ben threw a total of three touchdowns. Same as the defense and special teams who also scored 3 TDs.
Ben threw less than 50 percent against the Ravens and Troy scored a TD.
[COLOR="#00FF00"]Which year are you talking about? Ben was 5-1 under Cowher for the playoffs, and a little green. I do recall Ben making a touch down saving tackle after Bettis fumbled.
And the SB? That was a magical comeback true. But don’t forget defense spotted him 7…in reality a 10 or 14 point swing if JH doesn’t take it to the house.
Take away Harrison’s defensive score and we lose 23-20.
NO-NO. you can't say that, There was a whole half of football left for Ben to come back. One could say if Holmes was rules out of bounds, and to be honest it was razor close Tomlin NEVER WINS A SUPER BOWL, as that pretty much was the last play of game. Do you want to play on? I don't think this thread went the way you intended it too.Last edited by Joel Buchsbaum; 05-20-2021, 07:01 AM.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Comment

so a rushing TD doesn't count? after 2 tries from A HOF RB from the same spot failed?
how were his passing on the 3 playoff games prior to that. all on the road.
the first QB to win 3 playoff games on the road leading to the SB
does he need to put #8 on his jersey and have a speech impediment to get some praise from this board for a rushing TD?
PS tell hines to pull in a pass that in his hands (by the pylon)and he wouldn't have to throw for a TD to help us winComment

Who out there could play well in 233 games started in the regular season and 22 games started in the playoffs? Who? With 250+ games, it's not hard to find a bad one.
