The bald truth is any coach with that type of record would not get a 3 year deal.

The Houston Oilers fired Bum Phillips for going 11-5 and failing to beat the Pittsburgh Steeler in the playoffs after several tries. With Art Rooney II, Tomlin has a virtual for life contract. He'll live when he wants to. Meanwhile fans who know the deal are going to have to accept the fact that winning a playoff game is unlikely, and just be happy we are playing football.

I predict Tomlin fans, we know who they are going to blame a near 40 year old quarterback for his demise. Wait for it... I'll be there to point it out if they try. Meanwhile the same man saved his rear end from lousy coaching 35 times with 4th quarter comebacks, only to fire the OC as his scapegoat for lousy results when it counts.
Lmao.. what you are doing is called projecting.

You are the one obsessed with Tomlin.

These long winded, repetitive rants aren’t going to change anything yet you continue to ask the same question hoping for a different answer.

You should only make money when you win a SB... lol.

And yes, any owners main goal is money. Winning is secondary. The same thinking that the players have.
It's the only way you are likely to get your wish, and chance to gloat. But until it happens you are barking at a wall thinking ownership will change direction. And for the record, if they go that long with a losing record I'd be fine with a change of coaching.

“if we go 2-15 Tomlin lovers will still..”

”if we have 3 losing season Tomlin lovers will..”

notice how they always use examples that have yet happened to make their case?

Most of them just knew once Ben went down in 2019 it was their time to shine.. lol.

I think many of us would be fine with a coaching change if it happened. Just like many of us understand why the organization choose to extend Tomlin.

                Guys , guys ...

Let’s all sit back and relax. Let’s enjoy the next 3 + years with Tomlin and have fun rebuilding this team. Time/ actions will tell the tale like it always has.

It might interest you to know that I have Art Rooney II's email, not that I should list it here, but I may reach out to him as Tomlin has lost that new car smell long ago.

If you think what I saying is long winded, you haven't seen long winded.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

You are mistaken when you think this is about being right or wrong. It's a simple understanding of the dynamics at play. Either you understood why the organization choose to resign Tomlin or you don't.

Take care of the ball is paramount to success in the NFL. Ben came up small in the turnover department in the last two playoff games.

Finding the next QB will be key to the Steelers success regardless of who is the HC.
                              This is the truth IMO.

Tomlin will look good if they find a QB who's at least average and we can put a great team around him with all the extra cap space that a rookie QB contract provides.

He will look bad if the QB we get is below to well below average because you basically can't win in the NFL with guys like that.

Given that Tomlin has coached teams that pretty consistently competitive while paying a QB a market level deal most of his career, I think we'll be OK if we can find an OK guy.

That's why I really wanted this to be our sacrificial tank year. I don't think we'll compete anyway. And I am very worried that we finish with something like the 18th - 20th pick and we try to skip the bad year next year by reaching for a QB that's not good or giving up way to much to trade up. Then we're stuck with a sub-par QB for 4 years and we waste TJ and Minkah's primes.
