Steelers players went into Le'Veon Bell's locker, removing his nameplate and rummaging through items. Bud Dupree says thanks for the Jordan brand cleats.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Conner is a Pittsburgh Guy, and with all that's he's been through...I truly believe he loves being a Steeler...With that being said, He won't play for nothing...But after next year if you other him a " fair " contract...He would sign it in a minute jmo

BWhahaha - It's like when someone is canned at work, everyone fights for their stapler, mouse, key-board, etc.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

This is the best article I've read on the Bell story. Quite factual, and all arguments can be supported with logic, common sense, and facts. Basically Bell had no plan, no idea what he was or is doing, and not even a real idea why he's doing it.

You Bell die-hards on here should read it carefully and try to understand it, because to be honest, some of you don't seem very bright.

Maybe you should look at some different opinions on the subject.

Did you read the article that you posted? It basically says (1) we won't know the real outcome until March, (2) the tag system is unfair, and (3) Bell was worried about getting injured so he didn't play all year.

              (1) is called a truism.
              (2) is completely irrelevant.
              (3) is absolutely nothing new, and most people think is BS, or heightened paranoia by Bell.

You should read and try to understand the article I posted. It actually discusses the facts relevant to the Bell situation, analyzes then, and makes compelling arguments, that I have yet to see anyone try to refute, that Bell really screwed this up.

Clearly you have no interest in actually understanding why Bell would hold out an entire season and not sign for 14.5 million dollars. Your touting an article from sportingnews.com that actually tells people that Bell really had no plan at all and you think they have the facts.

You seem misguided in almost everything you post. Everyone has an understanding why Bell eventually didn't play football this year. The issue is whether that was a good idea, and whether he executed well on whatever plan he had. And if you bothered to read the article that I posted, it summarizes quite well that it's as if he had no plan at all.

I do think that article has facts. Because it does have facts, most of which are easily verifiable. What facts in the article do you dispute?

Right the issue is whether or not it was a good idea, the article has no "facts" in regards to that, it only has opinion. When the author of the article concludes "Bell had no defined plan. It was obvious right up until the 4 p.m. ET Tuesday deadline for him to sign the franchise tag." He is writing his opinion and a ridiculous one at that.

I'm done with this conversation, you don't care if Bell's decision works out in his favor or his position on the franchise tag, your mind is already made up please spare me your BS about "facts".

That's fine, but he shouldn't pretend like the people who don't have a seething hatred for what Bell did are "not bright" or ignoring facts.

I think there are lots of people who want it not to work out for Bell no matter which team he plays for.

IMO, Bell did have a plan this summer. But I think that plan evolved over time:

-I think his original plan was to sit out training camp and join the team a few games in. Maybe after the bye, especially after we struggled after the first few games. That was Bell's chance to be the hero. But after his O-linemen trashed him for not communicating and/or lying and fans became more vocal, I think he pouted a bit, potentially leading to a longer hold out.

-But then Connor started lighting the place up. I think Bell may have started to realize that maybe he isn't the main reason the RB running and short passing games were so successful in Pittsburgh. Maybe we have an elite line. Maybe the team is energized and pulling for Connor to do better than Bell. Maybe Bell is starting to feel like an outsider? Maybe if Bell returns to the Steelers, he won't be coming in as the Savior and maybe it'll actually be a little difficult for the team and fans to accept him? Maybe that thinking delayed his return to the team even longer?

-Then seeing two players season's ended with a broken leg and then a torn Achilles, maybe Bell started worrying even more about injury?

-And then, when apparently someone started reading the fine print in the CBA, Bell was informed that he didn't have to show up at all and would either be a free agent next year or paid like a QB - THAT was the final straw that made him sit out the year. I do think his intention was to sign when he left Miami and came to Pittsburgh. But with all of the above and the new information about the TAG, he changed his mind.
