I wish Felt was still here. Would be interesting to hear his perspective on this.

I hope Conner stays healthy this season.

The Steelers will now have an extra $14.5 million to count for the cap next season. I'd like to see them give Connor and Ju-Ju a nice salary bump.

Think about this, Connor salary is approximately $650,000 per year, Bell was making $855,000 per game.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Thankfully you arent in charge of anything.

The steelers would never do that, the cap friendly rookie deals are extremely important to the success of the team and gives them the flexibility to have a lot of players on their 2nd/3rd contracts as well as pursue a FA or 2

The steelers dont just give players a raise for the hell of it for doing a good job at the exact thing they were drafted and signed to do. It would come in the form of an extension, and being neither are a QB they will have to play out the 3rd year of their 4 year deal before they will even entertain the idea of talking about an extension

Bell played 4 playoff games and got hurt early in one.

He has 84 attempts and 424 yards (5.2 ypc), 13 receptions for 91 yards (9.8 ypr) and 4 TDs.

he had more than 165 yards in each of the three playoff games where he played the full game. If that's not performing in the payoffs, I'm not sure what it. My guess is that there isn't anyone significant on the Steelers roster who ourperformed his regular season averages more than Bell.

And that's a huge accomplishment because Bell's normal production was very high.

I get that he was hurt in the playoffs at times. That's probably because we ran the wheels off of him when he was here.

Saying that he wasn't a good playoff performer is ridiculous.

Didn't say he wasn't good...Unreliable...16 and 17 he was hurt...Actually I think it was 17 when he said he wasn't hurt...But was ( looked like he was ) hurt for weeks...Then stated " afterwards " that he indeed was hurt...and ultimately hurt himself and the team again...Typical ding-a-ling trouble making, **** talking fool

And there is no way Conner is going to sign an extension for a small pay bump, Conner is up there at the top of the league in production, he is eyeing a big day if continues on this pace.

Taking a smart move, I would try and extend Connor and Ju-Ju if possible. Let's not have history repeat itself.

Oh got it...rather pay Juju somewhere between 14-16 million per year (using davante adams, jarvis landry, and sammy watkins deal as really conservative estimates) instead of 800k and at worse $1 million in 2020.

And then while Kareem Hunt and Alvin Kamara are playing for 650k and have a full season more of production, the steelers should pay James Conner somewhere in the range of 5-7.5 million per year (using jerrick mckinnon, lamar miller, dion lewis, and leonard fournettes deals as estimates) instead of $600k next season

                  yep, smart

Not saying that, they're still under contract. Could the Steelers "bump" their salaries up a bit? Maybe a bonus? Who knows? I'm just saying these guys have the indication of being studs, why not take care of them now and not have another bell situation down the road? Didn't they do something like this with Tuitt?

I was responding to Man of Steel, who said "Also don’t forget how absolutely useless he was come playoff time."

It's really hard to make that argument when he was all world in the playoff games he played.

No, tuitt played the first 3 years of his deal and they ripped up the final year in favor of a 5 year extension

Didn't he pull himself out of a play-off game very early a few seasons back?

According to the current CBA, NFL teams are not allowed to sign players to extensions only 2 years into their rookie contracts. They must have 3 accrued seasons. So the Steelers would not be able to extend Juju or Conner this offseason even if they wanted to.

Tuitt played 3 seasons (2014, 2015, and 2016) before signing an extension prior to the start of the 2017 season.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Thanks, I think that is something that should be considered if they still progress well. The Steelers have a way of taking care of their own.
