I don't think many players would skip out on $14 million (or whatever the tag number is for their respective position). The odds of making back that money are quite low.

Also, most of these guys are in their prime if their being tagged, and competitors want to compete.

Obviously much worse than Huey Richardson and Jamain Stephens combined.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yeah, unless he gets $28 million plus in year one of his next deal.

                He's not a bust, but I don't think he's very smart.

Sucks that he's leaving this way, but Bell was a monster in the playoffs for us.

I wish Felt was still here. Would be interesting to hear his perspective on this.

I hope Conner stays healthy this season.

I wonder how well players that miss a whole season do when they come back. My guess is that it hurts performance in the year they come back.

In a Bell's case I'd be worried snit giving him a long contract with lots of guarantees after his YPC was down so much last year.

I think he needed some strong tape this year to maximize his value... Instead we got this **** show.

                    We'll see I guess.

I think it won't matter if the season counts or not because I don't think we'll put any tag on him either way

Somewhere in the "Deep South" as he'd call it... Felt is currently "in hiding"...

I'm not much for hearing his perspective, because he clearly let his emotions get in the way of sound judgment when it came to most things Bell. He was one of 2 guys who voted on one of the polls on here...saying that Bell would show up prior to the opener... and also a guy who labeled Conner as a "Career Backup"... "1000 yard back in this league" because of his love for Bell. Bell and Felt hitting the door at the same time is fine by me lol Both were cancers in their own right.

I agree. Conner is blowing up Bell's 2017 numbers in virtually every statistical category. BTW he's 1st in the league in runs over 20 yards.

It's a strange loophole in the language that actually works in the players favor if they are willing to sit out a year. Sure you have to give up the tag money but you stay healthy and you can't be traded. Everyone wants to paint Bell as money hungry for his holdout but I think it's more about being able to control his career path.

Yeah but what did Bell do of note in the 2014 and 2015 playoffs?
Obviously the standard is the standard.

whats even more amazingly stupid is bell could have taken out an insurance policy for whatever guaranteed $ he was seeking and play this year.
so even if the policy cost him a million or 2, he would have made 12, plus showcased his talent for all 32 teams next year........
the guy is clearly not that bright
