He's expected to practice Saturday. And if he does, he'll play Monday night. He's not practicing today.

Bell did ok first game out given that sad sack OL. Still wondering if he can get through a whole season though. That was a problem at PIT with one of the best lines in the NFL.

I watched some of it. The Bills were focused on him and Aam Darnold looks like the typical USC Quarterback...average.

Curious to see how Bell does vs the Browns.

Jets had that game won but CJ Mosley got injured and the D fell apart. Mosley was all over the place in that game and those 2 looked like they were going to lead them to a W for 3 quarters.

With Bell I have no ill will, and no rooting interest. I hope he does well in games in which it benefits our interests - against AFCN teams and NE, and couldn't care either way otherwise. I'll keep an eye out but will not be happy or disappointed based on his success or failure.

On the other hand, I would love to see AB flame out and will not be happy if he has any success.

Bell exercised his rights under the CBA and made a business decision. I never had a problem with it, I just didn’t think he’d give up millions by sitting out the year. I think he’s not brilliant and a poor rapper - but I never observed him trying to hurt the team. AB the last year or so however.......

Agreed. I didn't like the rapping of contract demands or the "is he in town or isn't he" but of all the things not to like, those are small potatoes. AB had at least 15 things that I didn't like more than Bell.

The kicker is that nobody ever spoke about Brown as a good teammate. Even when Ju Ju praised him it was about watching him, not him being helpful. Even last year when sitting out, Conner mentioned several times that he was in contact with Bell getting feedback and help. Bell was a good teammate to his guys.

Well, we are in week 8 and we can now reflect on Mr. Bell...

As you can see, he's not putting up great numbers because he has no O-line, No QB or passing game to take the defensive focus away from him. He is, who us knowledgeable ones knew he was. So the saga of Leveon Bell, and all the B.S. claims by one particular poster ( Ow wow..aka Feltdizz) on how great he was going to be with the Jets has proven to be false.

                  Good nite Irene.

I agree that since he's not doing appreciably better than Conner in a similar situation, it seems reasonable that the majority of posters who said that the additional cost vs. Conner were probably correct.

I guess the biggest difference between the two is fumble rate. Conner's high rate of fumbles may have cost us another game this year (SF). This year it probably doesn't matter much, although we'd be looking much better without his fumble and JuJu's.

It’s still early. If the contract was for 8 games you guys would have a point.

                        That's a fair point IMO.

I still doubt that Bell will provide good value for his contract (or the contract we offered him).

Sam Darnold only played in 3 or 4 games this year. They won one of those games vs Dallas and has a 16 point lead on the Bills before they blew it. (Mosley went down at half time and the D laid down in the second half.

But anyone who doesn’t think we would see better results with Bell behind DD, Pouncey and company this year? Lmao... this OL was built for Bells style. It’s not going to happen overnight in NY.

pretty sure you've said before that bell made the OL better because they aren't great run blockers.

now that bell isn't doing squat it's the other way around. typical
behavior. just can't admit that your boy isn't living up to the hype you slobbered on him

Yes, he made OUR OL look better at run blocking.

I never said he would make the Jets run blocking look better with 2nd and 3rd string QB’s.

I still believe he will help the Jets once Sam Darnold isn’t playing the Pats. They just beat Dallas a week earlier.

Guys can’t even wait one while season before patting yourselves on the back. Lmao.

                                I think Bell is better.

But I don't think he offers better value.

I think I'll be against resigning Conner at market value too.

Although if we have a cheap QB at that point, maybe paying for RB isn't a bad idea. But if we want to pay for RB, it looks like it may be possible to get a very high level guy if their team doesn't want to pay.
