I think it would depend on how much is guaranteed and if / when he gets cut.

Sitting out one of your prime years isn't a good way to maximize your lifetime earnings.

I doubt Bell would get if it was a 3 year contract. He would collect the bulk of that $55 mill over 3 years.

If Bell was hurt during last year or had another 300 touches on his resume he probably makes less in FA and it’s a wash.
