Damn right I want traded. They are treating him like Rudolph. No way I would stick with an organization who just lied to me.

Things change so I don?t blame our FO for grabbing Russ but if this is how you do it.. I?ll find another team to be a backup on.

Now we have Russ and who else? We screwed this up if Russ doesn?t knock it out the park. Guess we are now drafting Penix or.. gulp, Nix or JJ??? Maybe we gamble this year and draft a QB next year in the first?

If it works Khan is a genius. If not, oh boy?
    If I'm Coach/GM: Y'all are QB1 and QB1a - I won't say who's who until after camp.

KP might have a bad attitude but in this case he was essentially misled, he clearly wants to start, he wasn't going to start in Pittsburgh. I don't know how anyone can defend how this team has handled KP since being drafted, just a complete disaster.

    this...

Even Mrs DeVille said last night, "so he has a problem with competition? The we don't need him! He should be like bring it on old man, and if he's not, he's too soft to lead THIS team!"

dumb question (i'm about to drop this in 2 threads in hopes it is seen)

My big resistance on getting Fields is that 5th year option. But, is it possible to trade for him and get him to sign an extension with roster bonuses... i.e., look like a deal he'd want, but give the team a chance to feel him out on the cheap?

I guess the other thing I would add is if Pickett caught wind of his teammates supposedly lobbying hard for Wilson to sign with the Steelers I am sure that was another blow to his ego and a sign that it was time to go. Reportedly Cam and a few others lobbied Wilson hard. Wouldn't surprise me if this was true. After all, Cam's window is about the same as Wilson's.

I'm disappointed with how things went with Kenny. I have to admit, I became a bit of a homer and KP8 fan after we drafted him. I'm a Pitt alum and it just felt like a perfect story and he seemed like a generally great kid. But I do feel some sense of relief that we've cleaned the slate. I really couldn't take much more of this utterly pathetic offense. There was a LOT of blame to go around and just about anyone you could point a finger at, is gone. Other than Tomlin.

There's really no place to go, other than up, for this offense.
That QB class ended up pretty much as the experts said... it was dooky top to bot...er, almost bottom. Leave it the Niners to find the gem. But that was mostly luck. There was a good writeup about the number of QBs Shanahan has burned through in his tenure just to find the next SB winner. This is the new NFL guys. If you don't show something early then teams are not gonna sit on their hands.

The loss of support among teammates is the most troubling part of this and is similar to what we heard about Josh Rosen.

I think this is about right.

But maybe we would have traded him either way.

Bringing in Wilson so Kenny doesn't play in year 3 meant they didn't think he's a starter anymore IMO. And it essentially ended his possibility of getting the option. And probably for qualifying for even the playing time tier of the option (just basic).

Maybe if he stuck around, he could be a bridge to what comes after Wilson (if he only stays for 1 year). But we'd go get other Qbs to compete then too. And with only what we saw on the field, I don't think Kenny wins a QB competition that isn't set up for him to win.

    That clip is great.

Pickett thought he deserved what Tomlin told the world after the season. He's the latest in a long line of hostages who were lied to about playing time and asked to be traded or let go.

It's a shame we'll never know if KP could've been the answer.

And the elephant in the room is this team is very, very likely not a SB team with or without Wilson next season so I'm not sure what the team is doing here honestly but what's done is done.
Kenny got injured a lot. You can’t just bring in subpar qbs to surround him with so it doesn’t hurt his feelings. And really Kenny might only have been a first round pick because we were desperate and reached. He might have gone in the third round like Willis if we pass. Pickett has a big diva attitude for having one of the nfl records lowest td% ever at 1.8% . Good riddance noodle arm.
