Well, I guess if you aren’t going to give him a fair shot to compete, it’s a good move.

In Yogi Berra style; "the future isn't now".... the Steelers are not ready for a shiny new QB. Build the OL, get the offense functioning under RW, then find a QB next draft. I am getting jaded on these "great QB class" hypes lately. Too often they aren't anything different than years past, i.e. one good one, and a bunch of average types.

Tell everyone they are not permitted to turn the ball over.

    Complete waste of TWO seasons.
100%, total failure by FO and coaching staff here.

Now if we can just work a trade to ship away Pickens, the housecleaning will be complete

Definitely sounds like he asked to be moved and I don't blame him, pretty abrupt out of left field move by the team, especially considering the team now only has 1 QB on the roster and he's 36.

I said in the middle of the season we mght draft a QB in round 1 or 2. Someone I think Chucktown? Said I should leave the board if we don’t and he should leave board if we do?.gotta find that post not positive who said that to me lol. But they said it was an impossibility we would give up on Pickett after 2 years. I said 2 years is usually when you know if they are your next franchise qb

Wonder if anyone still thinks they anointed him to be QB1 next season (actions >>> words).

Wonder if we bring in Tannehill to be the backup? I'd probably prefer someone younger though.

Probably means we take a mid-round QB.

Edit: Comments on the Depot are saying we get their 3rd (98 ) and they get one of our 4ths (120). Then a couple of 7ths next season. Was hoping that it would be more like we get a 3rd. But I guess his value wasn't that high.

    3rd rounder (pick 98 ) and two 2025 7th round picks

    Steelers Give :
Kenny Pickett and Pick 120 (4th round)

Basically, they gave KP to move up 22 spots from 4th round to 3rd round.

We sold low for a bust of a first round pick.

I think his a point is that Kenny was not picked by Khan. Thats all.

Dizz knows Tomlin liked the pick. He argued that when it happened.

It was a collaboration. Again one that Khan was not part of, he has no skin in the game.

Speculation. Did Kenny go HOSTAGE behind the scenes and was REWARDED by yes going to a contender but without a PRAYER of starting?

I watched quite a bit of Pickett after we drafted him. I didnt see it. One year wonder with mechanic issues, average arm, and not all that bright. The Steelers out of sheer desperation convinced themselves that KP was their guy. But he was a 5th round talent. A NFL back up guy.

Then use the picks we have to get guys who are going to play.
We need to develop the future. But yet I do think the Steelers have their first real window in years. Weapons for Russ, OL…will be an interesting draft.

With a starter already in place (Wilson), if we could extend Fields to a reasonable number (Mitch like contract) for 2-3 years maybe that makes sense.

Wilson gets a year to rehab his image see if he has anything left in the tank.

Then Fields gets a chance to be the bridge after that.

Probably too crazy...but it doesn't seem like there's much of a market for Fields.
Now that I would be excited about.

I wanted additional day 2 picks, but Dayum
I mean Im personally surprised we got that for him. Time to move on. But definitely prioritizes QB in this draft.
