Joel has been calling for Warren as far back as last year. Joel was the one to say Warren was the better back as far back as last year. And the starter DOES get the majority of the carries and that will be Warren going forward.

D@mn you guys are such haters. Just give it up to Joel. He got it right.

How do you know he will get the majority of the carries, he just got a starting announcement for the Greenbay game, Najee actually started the game and had more carries.

I think most folks always said they have no issue giving Warren more touches. With the way this OL is blocking lately both RB's look good but every week after 2 runs a certain person claims Warren is outplaying Najee.

We have a great 1,2 punch. Everyone is eating right now. It looks like they gave Warren a reward and punished Pickens yet we also threw the first pass to Pickens. That is some Tomlin Jedi mind trick for the youngsters.
Quit candy coating your posts. Warren has been playing the best RB for the Steelers this year so far, so his role has increased. Pretty simple.

that has nothing to do with stating who started last game and who had more carries. Najee also had the longest run of the game on Sunday.

When the hole is there Najee has no issues getting through it, he just needs to stop that damn jumping once he is at the second level.

Tomlin explained that they wanted Warren to get announced at home because of his hard work. He hasn't replaced Najee and they haven't changed the depth chart, Tomlin simply wanted to let him experience getting announced in front of the home crowd.

Did you read the link? Let me post it:

Warren said head coach Mike Tomlin told him he would take over as the Steelers? backfield starter ahead of the team?s Week 10 game against the Packers. ?He did kind of mention the night before that whatever had transpired throughout the team, he was saying that he was going to announce me and that I?m deserving of it,? Warren told reporters after the Steelers beat Green Bay. Warren had 15 rushes for 101 yards and a touchdown against the Packers, along with two catches for nine yards. Najee Harris, meanwhile, had 16 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. Both Pittsburgh backs were targeted four times in Week 10. Warren, who ranks third among all running backs in missed tackles forced per rush, should have something close to a 55-45 lead in the backfield split going forward.

You should read a different link because Warren didn't take over as the starter. Warren was told ahead of time he would be announced as the starter for introductions, he was told this in advance so he could plan what he would do when he ran out during the announcement. That was what was explained by Tomlin and that is exactly what happened.

Warren was announced as a starter alongside Najee Harris, not instead of.

I should have my IT guy check to see if Steel Maniac and Joel live within 20 miles of each other
LOL. Yea, he said in his PC today at lunch that he decided to have them both announced.

I like having 2 starting RB's and having them share the work. I also like the few times they're both on the field together. They have different running styles and I think compliment each other. With the O-line performing much better the last few weeks with Jones, having two fresh healthy backs is a nice problem to have. If the Steelers hope to beat Cleveland this weekend, they're going to have to control the clock and rush for another 200 yards or better IMO.....

2 starters sounds good to me.

And Yes Joel called this correctly. Not that Najee has been bad, just Warren has been better. His speed hitting the hole is a better fit for our current OL.
My grandpa who actually rode a horse and donkey to school long ago in the 1920's used to say, if you hit a donkey in the head enough he will eventually get the message . A wise old man, he lived to be 99. He used to play football way back in the day, built like a guard he was the toughest man I ever knew. Oh the stories he could tell.

Tomlin got the message and the Steelers are better off because of it. I do not think Tomlin dwells on making his numerous wrong decisions.

Back to Warren. He showed good maturity for such a young player and is not a DIVA. Our offense is suddenly transformed with Jones at tackle and Warren playing more. Fans should get used to these two men real quick. I expect the Steelers to score more points with the two men featured. And use of Washington more to take advantage of Warren speed and quickness on the outside.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***
