Jalen Warren has been made the Starting Runningback!!!

The Steelers announced Jaylen Warren as the team's starting running back.

Warren said head coach Mike Tomlin told him he would take over as the Steelers? backfield starter ahead of the team?s Week 10 game against the Packers. ?He did kind of mention the night before that whatever had transpired throughout the team, he was saying that he was going to announce me and that I?m deserving of it,? Warren told reporters after the Steelers beat Green Bay. Warren had 15 rushes for 101 yards and a touchdown against the Packers, along with two catches for nine yards. Najee Harris, meanwhile, had 16 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. Both Pittsburgh backs were targeted four times in Week 10. Warren, who ranks third among all running backs in missed tackles forced per rush, should have something close to a 55-45 lead in the backfield split going forward.

    Props to Joel!!!!!!!!!!

Joel said it all along over a year ago and he was insulted, and received a ton of backlash for saying what has been proven to be true. Congrats to you Joel. I know the posters around here who insulted you for the longest about this won't be man enough to come back and apologize..........but I'll give you your proper due. Great call. You know your stuff!!!

"It may have just been a disciplinary measure of sorts for George Pickens, but the Steelers removed the second-year receiver from their announced starters before the game against Green Bay, deciding instead to announce second-string running back Jaylen Warren as a starter alongside Najee Harris."

Warren was announced as a starter alongside Najee Harris, not instead of.

I should have my IT guy check to see if Steel Maniac and Joel live within 20 miles of each other

This was just for the player introductions before the game. They introduced the starting offense including both NH and JW .
He did get a nice cheer from the crowd.

Steelers depth chart lists Najee as 1st team, Warren as 2nd team.

Steelers trying to save face for Najee becasuse he's a first round pick don't want to hurt his feelings & have him go Antonio Brown on the team....But Warren will keep getting more & more playing time. And Yes Joel called this correctly. Not that Najee has been bad, just Warren has been better. His speed hitting the hole is a better fit for our current OL.

Najee started against Greenbay, them mentioning Warren in pregame intros is just a little reward for Warren. Najee still listed as number 1 starter on the depth chart.

Also Warren's vision; commentator: "he sees the holes before they are fully formed and it shows in his running".

And Warren runs lower to the ground better leverage. Some of these hurdles in the open field Najee should be trying to plow through defender instead IMO.

No it isn’t about JH being named the starter and especially not about saving face for NH.
So as of now, NO Joel did not call it correctly.
Why can’t some fans accept a good 1-2 punch at RB without some kind of agenda against Najee?

Tomlin on Jaylen Warren being announced as a starter: "You guys ask me about him every week. You guys see the consistency" from Warren. Says it was an acknowledgment of Warren's preparedness and professionalism and says sometimes that's as simple as announcing a player at a home game.

Joel said our offense would be better with Warren running more & Najee less. That has been proven correct this year. What are you talking about? Warren has been the much better back whether you admit it or not.

Exactly. Joel has called it all year. You guys just can't give it up when your wrong about something. Joel got it right...he saw it a whole year before anyone else. Just gotta give it to him.

**** And you Najee lovers need to stop saying it's a "1A, 1 B" situation. There was a reason Tomlin came out and told Warren that he is the starter...meaning he gets the majority of the carries.

All these running back tandems around the league are a " starter" and "change of pace" guy. Meaning, starter and his back up. Najee is the back up now. Thus, the reason Tomlin had to tell Warren so.

Warren hasn't started and all year it has been 1A and 1B, Najee taking 54% of snaps and Warren at 46% of the snaps. You say the starter gets the majority of the carries, well that is Najee Harris.

kinda weird to scream Najee was replaced when he had more carries last game.

I think most folks always said they have no issue giving Warren more touches. With the way this OL is blocking lately both RB's look good but every week after 2 runs a certain person claims Warren is outplaying Najee.

We have a great 1,2 punch. Everyone is eating right now. It looks like they gave Warren a reward and punished Pickens yet we also threw the first pass to Pickens. That is some Tomlin Jedi mind trick for the youngsters.
