A lot of us have done dumb stuff in our youth

very few of us have professional sports teams deciding whether they want to invest multi-millions of dollars in us

they might not want to waste top-of-draft money on someone who doesn't seem to want to grow up
not saying Carter doesn't want to grow up, but that's what a lot of teams might feel like they need to determine

He's back at the combine participating in everything. Trying to reverse course on this big time. He COULD fall to us. Carter, Cam, Leal, Larry O....hmmmmmmm.

Although sometimes if you're egging houses from a car...one of your idiot friends might throw an egg into a closed window. Or so I've heard.

One mock already had him falling to us after this incident. It depends on his interviews and what he says about this going forward that is going to shape people's opinion of him.

One Halloween we were egging houses.. or should I say I was with people who were egging houses.

This fool egged the Chief of Police’s house while his wife was standing on the front porch. We made him go clean it up. We all knew the Chief of Police and respected him.

All the houses in the town and this fool chose that house.

Years later that same dude ended up serving time for being a volunteer firefighter that was starting fires and then playing the hero and putting them out.

the problem with this is most people whether an athlete or not aren’t always thinking about the worst that can happen when they make these decisions.. especially while intoxicated.

This goes for drag racing, meeting young women and having sex on the same day you meet them or knocking on doors drunk
              at 7AM.

Its easy for us to say as adults but at 20 or 21.. much harder to make “all the right moves”

I agree ... but that still doesn't mean that teams are not going to want to take some steps to protect their possible investment

If I was a team owner, I'd want to see some strong indication that the young man was interested in growing up/changing for the better

Is he at the tail end of his immature & foolish behavior, or is he apt to continue in it for years?

If I thought it looked like the latter, I might well decide he is too big a risk to select high in the draft

my concern is psychological. Is he getting therapy for this?

Is there no guilt at all?

I don’t think I would want him as a Steeler.

We send 18-year olds overseas to war, you need to stop making excuses for grown men acting like idiots.

yeah.. that’s not really a good thing to do to 18 year olds.

I knew some people who went into the armed forces at 18 and they told me some wild stories about things they did that were much worse than drag racing.

Your response comes across like I condone what he did or want him as a Steeler when its the exact opposite.

just talking about this yesterday ... if it wasn't young men, but older men that fought our wars (age 35-55), we wouldn't get in near as many of them

Agreed. I only like using the soldier analogy for drinking age. If you can be sent to war, you damn sure should be able to legally buy a few round of beers before going.

But I don’t believe being sent off to get shot at and kill has anything to do with Carter. A lot of people who go to the military do so for the “free” or reduced education, the money, love of country and/or because they are undisciplined or have no direction in life… and of course some go so they can blow sh!t up.

and if more women ran the countries, they might not be nearly as eager to send their sons to be killed in war.
