I'll let you do your own homework on that. But if you want to compare him to the other rookie QB, Pickett averaged 5 per game, Purdy averaged 4 per game.

its funny seeing someone who is constantly trying to remind us that we will fail with Tomlin try to act like the people defending Tomlin will rehash the negative.

I actually think the later is an often repeated misrepresentation.

NOBODY has "tease a playoff spot" as all we want. It is just a "reasonable expectation" at the start of a rebiild.

Reality is that you aren't gonna compete with SB favorites out of the gate. That is an unreasonable expectation for this young team FOR NOW.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Ruthless was one of the best posters I have ever known.

this board suffered a huge loss when he decided to leave because of all the negativity and being fed up of arguing with Steel Maniac all the time.

SB champ out of the gates? What about just a nibbling in the last 6 years? Not a single playoff win in that span. How about a real shot in the last decade? Oh no, too much to ask. Cool Shades was busy the last decade.

100% agree. It was a huge loss to this board when he got fed up with the BS and baiting. We lost a very knowledgeable poster. If you notice other good posters are posting far less and the board is filled with garbage from a few trolls.

This is what has me scratching my head.

How the hell are people who predicted 5 or 6 wins MAD at a 9 season?

Teams starting a rebuild don't have three players on D taking $70M of cap space, 2 on the back half of their careers.

We did seem to lean in to the things he did well. Maybe because he was part of the game planning process.

But many seem to want him to be something he isn't (at least not yet).

Lol, always pull out "passer rating" when you're in a bind. 1970s stat to the rescue!

What was the PA sample size? Did you know his first career pass was play action and Chase Claypool subtracted 50 points from his passer rating by botching a perfect pass into an INT?

And that wasn't even a well-designed play to get someone open in space. Did the Steelers even have a plan to take advantage of PA, or did they just use it when the spinner came up pointing to it?

Claypool was NFL open on that play.

                            so glad that traded him.

Have you never seen other teams scheme guys WIDE open on play action? He was double covered, but got both hands on the ball.

My youngest likes the Tigers aka the Bengals.. because she really likes Tigers.

Now, on sports boards I see a few people who are Golden State Fans and also love Patrick Mahomes and KC. Most people like winners so I think they will pick a team that is hot right now. Those people annoy the hell out of me.

But I think these days fans are mostly rooting for individual players. So if you like Watt’s game or Pickens game you will root for the Steelers but the loyalty isn’t there.
Nice. I bet the oldest will come around and end up liking the Steelers as an adult because she have the nostalgia of dad being a fan.
