    How do you define lazy?

Perhaps you could suggest guys that don’t maintain weight/health as lazy? Ie guys like Ben, Dotson, Dwyer, others.

Perhaps it’s the guys that need extra off days because they aren’t willing to work? Although I think those are coaches decisions.

Is it guys that don’t show enthusiasm or energy and just seem to go thru the motions?

Or is it guys that show flashes of extreme potential but never work to get better?

Or guys that are so naturally gifted they don’t have to work at it and never progress beyond their freakish god given abilities?

Or is it a guy that takes a big contract and then goes on cruise control to protect his health for the long haul?

I think this is really hard to answer if you don’t personally know guys.

I tend to think everyone would do better than me if we were placed in the exact same circumstance with the exact same background.

I think it’s a lot easier to rank the worst performing. Or most disappointing players.

Lazy is just so hard to define. And these guys all play such a violent and competitive sport and I don’t see how a guy even makes it to the NFL if he’s lazy.

I'm curious as to what prompted this thread. It just seems like justification for publicly calling out 10 black dudes. You seem to acknowledge that, since you realize it will ignite brawls and colorful exchanges. On what other basis might you be referring to? It is obvious you are lighting intentional fires on the board for the sake of enjoying the chaos. That (and many other things you post) says something about you. Pretty shameful behavior, in my opinion.

You're thinking way too much on the definition. Many people have a different educational experience and interpret the meaning of the word lazy differently. There is no way I can give you an answer to the definition of the word which would satisfy all posters. Just leave your list and have fun. There is nothing sinister about it.

You forgot the guy who never practiced on Wednesdays the 2nd half of his career, never got in great shape, and was never a film room guy.

When I made my list of players, I didn't realize that all the players were black. After looking at the list again, a couple of them I wouldn't consider fully black. The players weren't chosen for their skin color, I can promise you that. Besides this 80% of the players in the NFL are black, so I'm not far off from a representational standpoint. That my friend is a fantastic accomplishment for any skin color.

It is a big stretch to logically assume that the words "colorful exchanges" used together would refer to race or skin color. I'm honestly perplexed by your reasoning.

I think you're referring to Ben Roethlisberger, am I right? Now that will trigger a debate filled with colorful exchanges. I love it, you should totally do a list.

Why not add Big Ben to that list?

I didn't think he was as lazy as the other players on the list, obviously. You're more then welcome to do your own list.

Hard for me to believe you could have many truly "lazy" players make it to the NFL level in this era.

I guess I heard rumblings that LaMarr Woodley didn't take his offseason conditioning seriously enough, and that younger Ben didn't either ... and that Ben didn't put the time in to film study that he should have ... frankly, I'm not sure I buy any of it.

If a player is "lazy" coming in as a rook, I don't think he'll be here very long.

Generally agree with this. Maybe a measure of laziness is how far a player drops in performance upon signing a second contract? And Woodley comes to mind based on that.

                        Minkah?

                        Willie Parker is #2?

The only way to take this seriously is if you add WHY a player is lazy.

anyone surprised by these posters who inly post negative stories about the Steelers?

You can say Leveon Bell is alot of things but lazy wasnt one of them, dude was touching the ball like 400 times a season and was in fantastic shape.

Another one - Bruce Gradkowski. Dude spent more time on the beach and the tanning bed than in the film room.

Bret Keisel - Too lazy to shave.

                              Sorry those are wrong answers.

Minkah is lazy. Apparently, he spends too much time in the film room (supposed film junkie) as opposed to 24/7 physical training.

Perhaps there is the assumption what he is into is Netflix.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
