Did we see any kind of creativity/innovation/adjustments on the part of the coaching staff to help this team win?

To me, looked more like, "we do what we do" ... this time, we didn't get away with it

yep, the standard is the standard.

the stuff you mentioned would require coaching. adjustment to the players playing in front of the starters. different game planning perhaps

Everything else being equal, we win that game with a decent QB. There were 2 easy throws Mason missed, at least one of which was 7 points. He’s just not an NFL-caliber QB

We're going to act like THEY didn't lose their starting RB, have a hurt QB and just assume injuries only impact the Steelers - because that fits the agenda.

Let's also pretend that Mason was on point all day... and that Boswell was guaranteed to match his career long in the sleet.

None of this removes the fact that Mason was REALLY bad. If you saw anything otherwise in Mason today, I'll never trust your perspective on a player again.

Mason was bad, Our OC is retarded, Devin Bush is a bust....and Tomlin failed to adjust gameplan until too late. What's Tomlins record again against subpar.250 teams? I think he has the record for worst

The coaches put the team in position to win. There were pleanty of opportunities. Innovation wasn't the issue. Execution and mistakes were the issues.

It certainly didn't help that the Steelers loss 2 starting guards to injury. Losing Watt and Haden didn't appear to have a big impact in this game.

Gotta give the Lions credit because they fought just as hard as the Steelers to win.

Why did the super bowl champs lose to the WFT? Every team in the league is a threat. And we had no Ben, no Juju, no Claypool and today lost Watt & Haden.

That's true. If Mason hits DJ late in 4th we win. Of course If DJ & Freiermuth don't fumble we also probably win.

That's true. It's the subtle things that Tomlin doesn;'t do that would make a world of difference. Like he put in Spillane too late.

To me, it was worse than that. Given the weather conditions and the fact we were playing our backup quarterback, we threw the ball 50 times. 50 times! That series where we had a 1st and goal at the 6 and threw incomplete on 3 straight plays was mind-boggling. Terrible game plan and in-game coaching on the offensive side of the ball.

there's no celebration, trust me. If anything, I celebrate that *MAYBE* the team determines they DO need a QB next year and doesn't give Mason a full season. I still would have like to seen that with a FG kick for the win.

a former blocking TE, Neanderthal type coach, in his rookie year and calling the plays for the 1st time out coached him.

Lions lost significant players, too

I'm not downplaying the failure to execute and the mistakes, particularly the turnovers. That's obviously where the primary blame has to go.

Yet just as easily as saying the coaches put the team in position to win (didn't Detroit's coaches have their team in posiiton to win?), you could say the coaches didn't do enough to help us win a close game w/o our starting QB. What did they come up with to really boost our chances? I don't see it.
