connor looks to be tracking it down and gets ahead of ben, i read some of the comments speculating if connor called him off like an outfielder would do. there you see ben let up a bit.

when connor goes down you can see the ball change direction and momentum on the last bounce causing JC to miss it completely.
if we're putting percentages of blame on that play its 1000% pouncey's fault
    or 999% on pouncey
and 0.5 % to both connor and ben imo
I agree with your percentage breakdown.

But it does suck to see the Abbot LT and Costello routine with JC and BR here.

you have to give Pouncey 100% of the blame for that horrible snap.

but it's a team game, and it sure would have been nice to see JC or BR recover that fumble to exonerate Pouncey.

More on JC than Roethlisberger I think. JC is younger, used to contact especially if it was a scrum, and easier dropping to the ground than Roethlisberger. Conner should have played it with more aggressiveness. Maybe another reason why the Steelers had no interest in resigning him.

Please, I think that is a real reach to suggest they had no interest in resigning Conner because of that play. He made a good effort, footballs are oblong so they take weird bounces. The fault lies with Pouncey. People are placing more importance on what Conner and Ben did in that play than is reasonable. I have no problem with them not resigning Conner. I think he is in a good situation at Arizona. He won't be expected to be a bellcow. He has Kyler Murray and Chase Edmonds to take the heat off of him. The warm atmosphere may help alleviate his injuries.

Arizona is the winner. Whoever the Steelers draft may be expected to carry the ball 300 + times like Willie Parker or Le'Veon Bell, and anyone but Najee Harris is probably not up to the task. Also the openings against NFL defenses will not be as huge as college defenses.

Just one more word on this before I let it go. If anyone has played a little football, they should know that picking up a rolling football is not that easy. The ball is oblong so it wobbles. It changes direction. Picking up a rolling football, when you are running to your goalline is not as simple as people are portraying it. The ball doesn't roll true like a round ball, such as baseball or soccer ball. You can think you have it lined up and lunge and miss it completely.

Conner and Ben were also feeling the heat because they knew the defense was breathing down their necks. That was difficult play and it would have almost been a miracle if one of them had recovered it inside the two yard line.

              true it looked bad

if they were alone in going back for it, i have to believe they would have both done a better job solo recovering it.
unbelievably, neither got a hand on it

these guys have played all their lives..

fall on the ball or attempt to fall on the ball.

hesitating or trying to get the perfect angle is a recipe for disaster.

He was more injury prone then Bell. And the front office wants to go back to a bell cow approach at RB. And that isn't Connor at this point going forward.
