        Exactly.

Let's not forget a competitive streak that is the subject of locker room legend. And he didn't try to get the ball. He was too fat and slow to get there. His knees are shot. He's afraid to get hit.

There is a lot of speculation going on in this thread being passed off as fact. People acting like they know stuff and the simple fact is they don't. Do any of you really think the franchise would tether itself to Ben, if any of that were true. But you guys...the fans behind the keyboard with all of your keen football acumen...you have it figured out. Gotcha.

        Let's just see what happens.

but I do think we will see this year if the arm is better another year after surgery/rehab. if it is, i think he'll want to play after 2021
I would be willing to put a bet on it. Where can I get some of that action?

            sorry, was eating dinner.

no excuses and no need to save face.

awhile back you mentioned people having two accounts and I thought I would give it a try to see what it's like.

I never used the Blitzburgh account in a malicious manner of for any bad purposes. I thought I was answering you from this account.

however, I can now see that having another account can be misleading so I won't do it anymore.

I'll just post from this account from now on to avoid this type of confusion.

IMO I don't blame Ben or Conner for the opening play where the ball was snapped over Ben's head and Cleveland recovered in the end zone. Ben was standing around the 17 yard line. Pouncey snapped the ball very high with velocity. Ben got a fingertip on it. Before either Ben or Conner could reverse field and reach the ball, it was rolling at the two or three yard line. Conner tried to position his body so he could field the ball and stop it in the field of play. He flopped on it but it squirted away and went into the endzone. It was a difficult play and I don't think Ben had a great opportunity to cover that ball.

I don't think it is about over for Ben because of that play at all. He has lost a lot of his athleticism. He is almost 40. Guys get old. Players don't retire because they just feel like it. They can't do it anymore. Comparing Ben to someone in walker or a wheelchair, he is very mobile. Relatively speaking to the level of athleticism of the standard NFL player. He is immobile.

                Ah, the memories of Roethlisberger....

When he hires a personal nutritionist and trainer we'll know he is serious. Everything else is what he has assumedly already been doing. Aging makes you have to do more than what you used to do just to stay fit.

Seems like terrible communication to me more than anything.

Ben and Conner get there at about the same time, but neither seem to know who's going to try to fall on it. Conner falls too late so that his body goes past the ball and he can't pick it up (they should do Rugby "spoiling" drills IMO).

Ben keeps his feet and just kind of watches it.

I wonder if anything about this game would have been different if one of them would have booted out the back and taken the safety. But without a time machine, we'll never know.

Obviously the biggest portion of fault of this play goes to Pouncey.

that's what i was hoping one of them would do, just kick it out of the end zone. start fresh.

watching it a few times and aided by the slo mo on youtube.
connor looks to be tracking it down and gets ahead of ben, i read some of the comments speculating if connor called him off like an outfielder would do. there you see ben let up a bit.

when connor goes down you can see the ball change direction and momentum on the last bounce causing JC to miss it completely.
if we're putting percentages of blame on that play its 1000% pouncey's fault
                      or 999% on pouncey
and 0.5 % to both connor and ben imo

                        that's an awfully odd take.

in this case, i quoted and asked steelmaniac himself for a reason despite a few others trying to pin the blame on ben.
i know he doesn't automatically shift the blame to ben on everything like some other do.

i keep seeing this and wonder if people remember what occurred.

connor was step for step with him going after the bad snap.

if they both go for the ball, they likely might cancel each other out.

who do you want jumping on that ball a near 40 yr old QB or a mid 20s 6'2 230LB running back?
Ben was right with Connor ; but who went to the ground? Connor. If your not going down with him then your not really trying to get the ball. I remember that play like it was yesterday. Still upsets me to even think of it.

In those situations , I’ve never not seen multiple guys go down for the ball.

I told you that Ruthlisberger had other accounts and you see that hawaainsteel has had multiple accounts.

I can’t remember who said it but there was someone who said that if anyone had multiple accounts then something was wrong with them in reference to assuming whatever had multiple accounts.

Well, now we know of one confirmed. Wow.

so are you saying that I'm Ruthless?

I would actually take that as a compliment.

let's make a deal: let's have the mods check both IP addresses and if I'm Ruthless I leave this message board and if I'm not then you leave forever.
