Doubt it since they don’t have a suitable replacement. Financially it was a fair contract.

Not sure about that. I think Dak is better than he is given credit for and they look like a team who can make the playoffs with Dak at QB. That’s all you really want as a franchise who hasn’t sniffed many playoffs over the last 20 years.

Texas is also a state where they are opening up like Covid is done so they will have a packed stadium again.

McCarthy tho, not sure about him as a HC.

Not sure that matters. I’m sure the injury was frustrating. I don’t see how anyone can watch $35 mill in a sling and think it was a good investment.

So weren’t competitive until the last year with him and hell, without him we were 8-5 at one point.

I think if we were really happy with our investment we wouldn’t have restructured.

Its not all his fault tho, if the cap went up I bet there are no regrets. Covid was out of our control.

I disagree. I think everyone involved knows it is a one year deal and they are betting that Ben will be at least as good as last year. Improve the running game and we can have a successful season.

Great day for Dak, not so much for the Dallas Cowboys who's never going to win with a QB who can't raise the level of his own team to the playoffs, has a losing record in the playoffs, and a losing record in his last 21 or so starts Sure they need him! There goes your cap space to pay a slightly better than average QB. Zeke is about done.

A person on NFL network said, the highest paid QB hasn't won the super bowl in years. But look at Brady, he play for 25 million. And Ben.

If Ben was my client and wanted the money, I say make them cut you, take 19 million then we will sign elsewhere for 10-15 million and I'm probably underselling what he's worth as a free agent.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

You would think. All that money tied up in Dak & Zeke. It will be interesting seeing them put out a competitive team

Dak has a ton of weapons around him. But their O-line wasn't up to snuff last year. Let's see if Jerry fixes that early on.

I could never picture Ben in another uniform, I'm pretty sure he would never want to damage his Steelers' legacy by doing so either.

great day for the Steelers also.

the Browns and Ravens must have cringed, trying to re-sign Baker and Lamar just got a whole lot more expensive.

Yep. The Browns and the Ravens are about to see their cap structure explode

Their defense is probably among the worst in the league. Dak, if he stays healthy, is going to have to score 30 points per game. Unlikley

The only regret they should have is the length of the contract. They didn't quite get it right, but it's always a guess how long a player will last as a starter. His money was reasonable for his play at the time.

They may try to go the Mahomes route with their contracts. That will keep in their caps at a reasonable level for a couple of years before it starts dragging on the rest of the team.

If he doesn't pan out to what they want, the cowboys will be happy they didn't get that extra year.
