while tommy ( another defensive coach) lets blake bortles go for 40 in a home playoff game.

6 SB wins as a head coach, 3 more as a defensive coordinator of the giants

always has assistants at the top of teams around the league wish list of new coaches for the chance they can replicate some of that success.
has there been anyone on tomlin's staff in the last 15 years who was sought after like that?

I was going to say tomlin can't hold Bill's jock. but I think he could

after he washes, dries, and shines it to the level bill likes it

Easy answer for a clown, when your lover Benjamin is turning the ball over at a rate higher than Blake, that's how a team win in your home playoff game. Stopping the greatest show on turf, well if you have the plays from watching practice and have the commish destroy the tapes, makes it a whole lot easier you clown. And if you think that was his first time while being in NE, you are really naive and dumber than I think that you are.... When he got caught, who was the first person to defend him? BILL Parcells CLOWN!!!!

I hate that MFer but its easy for non tomlin BWers to admit that.

even as a huge big ben fan
i can admit ben is not as good as mahomes. never was as good as mahomes is playing now.
not as good as rodgers (who i've ranked #1 for a long time)

in their prime, not as good as brady or peyton. and likely others if you want to go and compare.

this idiot above can't even admit the coach a lot of experts think is the best of all time is a better coach then tomlin.

in fact, i think i've only seen 1 "tomlin backer" on here admit that Bill is the better coach (Ct lemming).

so who exactly is the one being biased in their opinions?

Or publicly caught twice many years apart. And we are supposed to pretend that there was no cheating in between.

You don’t hate them, you envy them and thats why you always use them as the standard.

Most people hate cheaters tho so that why they won’t admit The Cheat is a better coach.

I have no problem admitting Bill is the best HC in the NFL.

What’s odd tho is he is a known cheat and if all people can say is Bill is better than Tomlin that isn’t a dig on Tomlin at all.

But its still weird to see people using that organization as the standard based on what we know. Also weird to continue to bash Tomlin because he hasn’t done what no one else in the history of football has been able to do.

So yeah, in todays NFL Tomlin is doing great when put up against any HC not named The Cheat.

and again, this is a STEELER board. So I’m not sure why you think its odd that people are backing Tomlin. You are quick to call anyone who defends LJ a troll or tell them to be fans of the Ravens but you fail to see the hypocrisy in your praising of The Cheat?

                      How sway?

NJ, do you have zero recall of what people have said in the past? Heck I know other Tomlin backers ON THIS THREAD have said BB is better in the past. Of the long timers I don't know if any who truly think Tomlin is better than BB.

I think the only point anybody is making is that even the great BB cannot consistently overcome poor QB play. Without Brady even the GOAT coach is a mere mortal.

The point here? When our QB plays poorly it is ridiculous to ALWAYS say it is the coaching that lost us the game.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

when people point out our struggles in the playoffs recently.. they mention Tomlin but they rarely mention Ben.

They act like Ben is held hostage and playing great but Tomlin is finding ways to lose these games.

The Pats loss is the one loss where I thought Ben played awesome and Tomlin and the D shat the bed. I was extremely vocal about it too. But that was also the game I think half our WR’s were out and Ben was throwing to a bunch of green dudes who weren’t ready for the stage.

but most other years we had turnovers by Ben that made it hard to win playoff games.

Yes I recall you putting squarely on the "coaching" and had that time in mind for the other thread where I told NJ I can find Tomlin backers criticizing Tomlin.

Exactly. I find it odd how often people use stats considering you are looking at a sample size and external factors that make it statistically insignificant. I am a math geek by nature, which is why I look the cap mathematics as much as anything. Every one of these playoff games has a life of its own, as the numbers cannot be used to show any reliable trends mathematically. Not saying that Tomlin or Ben or anyone else should either be blamed or absolved of blame, but it is lazy to just look at these limited numbers of results and use that as proof of anything.

BTW, in the Tebow loss, it is never reported how decimated by injury the Steelers were at that point. IIRC the D line was down to just three players who played almost the entire game. The Steelers had absolutely no push at the LOS and had nothing left by the end of the game. Even Steeler fans knew that had they gotten by the Broncos that they would have been destroyed by the Pats the following week. That narrative and lack of context always bothers me."Tebow beat the Steelers".

Again, no excuses but definitely factors in a loss. But all that is used to describe the game is another playoff loss for Tomlin and Ben. They were beaten by Tebow, a scrub, as if he did anything more than complete a ten yard crossing pattern which Demaryius Thomas took all the way, with a nice stiff arm on Ike.
