Exactly. Those that hate Tomlin will cling to that no matter the facts put in front of them. Can't wait until he is the winningest coach in Steelers history.

It's often interesting how some people still can see Tomlin remained a quality HC because of the disappointments in the past. Disappointments often clouds people's judgement. The same can be said for Harbaugh with the Ravens. Ravens fans thought he was in decline. Well look at the Ravens now.

I think it might take 3 consistently bad losing seasons for the Ravens and Steelers to let go of Tomlin and Harbaugh.

I'm all in favor of firing TOMLIN
....if he loses control of a Healthy team w/ a healthy BEN down the stretch and the Steelers finish 7-9
        Other than that - Nope
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...

I think the lessons from the table below are that (i) we have been spoiled rotten as Steelers fans because all of these three coaches have been well above average (2 in the HoF although I think BC shouldn't have gotten in despite that fact that I think he's a great coach), (ii) having an elite team without a cap or free agency is great for dynasties, (iii) it seems pretty likely that Tomlin will finish with more wins that Cowher, but I don't know if he'll pass Noll (need ~ 60 more wins).

Source (but I added our 5 wins this season to Tomlin's numbers): https://www.si.com/nfl/steelers/Pitt...0respectively.
          Without those extra 5 wins, his W% = 64.3%.

          Coach W L T W% PW PL PW%
          Noll 193 148 1 56.6% 16 8 66.7%
          Cowher 149 90 1 62.3% 12 9 57.1%
          Tomlin 138 74 1 65.1% 8 7 53.3%
Cowher coached for 15 seasons and this is MT's 14th.

So if we can win 4 playoff games in the next 2 seasons (hopefully all in one year, thanks), he'll have equaled BC's playoff win total in the same number of seasons.

Cowher's playoff record was certainly saved by his 14th season. Let's hope that MT has the same end result in year 14!

          W - Wins
          L - Losses
          T - Ties
          PW - Playoff wins
          PL - Playoff losses
          PW% - Playoff win percentage

Nobody but Steeler fans ever thinks we are even supposed to be SB favorites based on talent every year.

I do think Tomlins biggest fail was a period of coddling high tier talent. I think he learned from it (as I predicted he would) and has created a culture where character matters more than ever.

Dude is a really good coach
            Perfectly summed up at 1:50:

"Is it too much to ask our team just stay healthy the entire season and we win all our games and the Super Bowl? Is that too much?"

FWIW I think Tomlin's biggest mistake was not splitting carries between Bell and Blount (and generally running RBs into the ground). If we had a healthy RB2 in that playoff run and the Pats didn't have Blount, maybe we have another Lombardi in the trophy case.

But, you've got to take the bad with the good. And we're way ahead on the ledger there.

I don't think the impact was as big as the Blount thing, but the whole Spence / LJ Fort playing time thing also seems to be an error in retrospect (but I don't know if it would have made a difference that season as the Jags just had our number).

We've been exceptionally luck for the last 30 years or so. It won't continue forever. There will be big questions / challenges when Ben retires.

                So let's enjoy the ride.

Tomlin's doing great, So far...If he crumbles down the stretch or lays an egg with a healthy team that is loaded...I would want him fired ( will never happen )...That would be 11 years without winning ****! 3 playoff wins in 11 years...1 was the Bungal game, 1 was against a backup QB who was rotten ( name escapes me )

That's not good enough...For me! Others on here can carry his pom poms if they want...And again I say, IF this scenario happens!

so if Ben throws 3 pick 6’s in a playoff loss it’s Tomlin’s fault right? Got it. How dare Tomlin throw those INT’s.

Anyone who thinks that he should be fired after last year what he did with scrubs, should immediately stop being a Steelers fan and just root for every team that wins a SB. And be an official Bandwagon sack rider. Or admit it's for other reasons that you want him fired!!!

are we really damn good? We beat the Browns. It’s not time to crown us just yet. Next 2 games will give us more insight.

The system matters and we run the team well. I'm a huge believer in having the best processes you can in place because that gives you the best opportunity to capitalize on the chances that luck brings you.

But some things are still 100% out of our control. We were lucky to get Ben where we did.

If Cleveland wasn't a total **** show, they would have picked him instead of soldier boy and we probably have 2 fewer trophies.

I think I get pretty emotional about games when they're on.

But I don't think I carry that emotion too long after the game ends, win or lose.
