Ravens are a problem

I think it’s a combination of our D being really good, playing a division rival and the Ravens also getting better on offense.
It will be interesting to see how the Stains play the Browns the second time.Comment

Atlanta abused the Saints 2 weeks ago. They also man handled the Panthers.
Then the Panthers took the Saints to the wire in NO.
Division opponents aren’t really a good barometer for how a team is evolving.
The Ravens destroyed the Pats defense. It will be interesting if they meet again in the playoffs since they are good at adjustments.Comment

Hard to count out the Pats, but the Ravens look legit. They've got a bunch of quality wins this year.hate to say it but Baltimore is in a beautiful situation.. Theyve got an MVP type on a rookie contract for 3 more years.. just think of all the $$$ theyve got to plug in studs at other positions. Plus theyve got a pro bowl RB on a 3 year 15 million dollar deal. They also have 3 very good TEs who get the vast majority of targets... and a 305 lb Fullback who is very athletic.
I know alot can happen but this team in my mind is the clear AFC favorite to the SB
I 100% agree that good cheap QBs make for very competitive teamsComment

You have to get LJ in 3rd and long so he can’t freeze LB’s with the RPO.
His passing has improved like I thought once he had an offseason for the OC to tailor the playbook to his strengths.
While I’m not high on Mason I still think any QB needs an offseason as the #1 before you can truly evaluate if they are worth keeping or not as a franchise QB.Comment

And you need a GOOD offensive coordinator who is willing and able to tailor the offense around the strengths of your QB.Comment

The Steelers defense matches up well with the Ravens. They will score points but it can be controlled.
The bigger problem is the offense in its current form is the exact opposite to support. Need an offense capable of long sustained drives to keep the Ravens off the field. The Steelers can barely manage 1 out of 3 3rd downs.Comment

I'm thinking the rats peaked too early.
In the begining, the pats looked to be unbeatable. Now it's the rats.
I'll wait a few more weeks to see how it goes. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

Depends on if they are still chasing the #1 seed. They may rest players if they have nothing to gain.
That’s the only reason I said the Stains.
Definitely want to see how we do if they are playing for something.Comment

I'm glad that you agree with me.
My point has always been that talent > coaching.
The argument I didn't agree with that that a coach should be able to take less talented players and get great results in their area of specialty.
McVay can't get a great O with sub-standard talent. Just like Tomlin couldn't get great play out of a bad secondary and an ILB off the couch.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 11-26-2019, 01:37 PM.Comment

I’m not discounting LJ’s season at all. He’s been electric. I just can’t move past why a QB with that skill set hasn’t won Super Bowls in the past. Maybe he’ll be the first? I just give deference to the last 50 years and feel like I need to see it first before I’m all in on the kid. After all he’s only one ACL (RGIII) from a big problem.
I’m not wishing an injury upon him, I love great play. But I’m keeping my powder dry for now.2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!Comment
