Ahhh yeah. The QB Jeff Fisher hated because he beat USC.

For all of his shortcomings Vince Young won more than he lost.

    31 and 19 as a starter.

Imagine if they actually embraced his style of play like Baltimore is doing with LJ?

Folks always say coaches and franchises want to win more than anything else but I don’t always think that’s true. No one embraced 7-9 like Jeff Fischer.

That's just it, LJ is in an offense tailored to his skill set, When Mobile QB's came into the league in the past they where put into pro style offenses that didn't take advantage of their skill sets. LJ doesn't have to be an incredible passer, the RPO with his running ability gives him a lot of easy reads pre snap because he is only watching the Linebacker and the safety to determine pass or run, if the safety comes into the box they pass if he stays back they run. This is also why Baltimores run game is so effective, when LJ decides to give it to the back, the RB is running against a favorable front and when LJ decides to pull it and pass he is passing against favorable coverage. What seperates LJ from other teams that run the RPO is his ability to run, teams are reluctant to move that safety down in the box because it becomes man on man and if he pulls the ball and runs he could break off a big one.

SO what kind of defense does it take to beat THIS SCHEME. IS it a stout run defense that can stuff the middle, corners that defend 'on an island', a super smart safety, a confusing scheme?

And whatever that happens to be, the most important question is .... Is that us? I thought we did pretty good the first time.

Iv'e seen this before. The league has a way of catching up to these gimmicky guys. Usually takes a season; Now that they'll have a years worth of film on him, they'll adjust. Usually the following season.

          Just like they did Kapernick..
Just like they did to Tebow..
Just like they did to Vince Young..
Just like they did to Mike Vick..
But Maniac, those guys dont have multiple perfect passer rating games.
Dude you KNOW I was on your side...last season when his passing was like Mike Vick.
But he did the improbable and upped his pass game big time.
You are looking at just run ability, not passing prowess.

Again, the guys you list dont have multiple perfect passing games
Here is the list of players in the entire NFL history who have done that:

In the National Football League (NFL), the highest official passer rating that a quarterback can achieve is 158.3, which is called a "perfect passer rating".[1] To qualify, during a single game a quarterback must attempt at least 10 passes, have zero interceptions, have a minimum completion percentage of 77.5%, have a minimum of 11.88% of their passes score touchdowns, and have a minimum of 12.5 yards per attempt. The passer rating was developed in 1971.[2][3]

As of the 2019 NFL season, there have been 61 different players, playing in 74 distinct games, who have achieved a perfect passer rating. Four of these games have occurred in the post-season. Eight quarterbacks have achieved the feat more than once: Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning each have four; Kurt Warner has three; and Craig Morton, Dave Krieg, Ken O'Brien, Tom Brady, and Lamar Jackson each have two.

THAT my friend is RARE AIR.
You wont ever see Tebow or Young on that list, and to perceive this kid as having the same limitations because he CAN run like a beast is just ignoring the evidence above.

You are I are looking to be wrong on that one pal.
          Just own it man.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I don't know if there is a defense that can stop it completely, which is probably why it's ran so much now. The key is having guys upfront who can win consistently on their matchups and for them to have the discipline to defend their gap, which is why you saw Baltimore come back to earth in that game against the 49ers. But like I said LJ is the X-Factor, even if you take away the run pre snap and lock down the receivers in man coverage, he still has the ability to run for the big play or to keep a drive alive.

I think we match up well with the Ravens. We also play them a ton so we are built to stop them.

Will be interesting to see if their offense has improved since we last played them or if our D is a problem for LJ.

I was shocked at how bad the Pats looked against them but I think part of their problem is they play man all the time and the LB’s were so worried about LJ they didn’t have an answer for Ingram.

LJ is special. Now, maybe he blows out a knee next week ... that would throw a serious wrench into his game ... but otherwise, I think he's going to continue to excel. He's a huge threat running, and while he's not Brady accurate, he's come a long way. It's going to be hard for most teams to defend the Ravens offense the way they're using him.

                  It's all coming together.

Lamar Jackson announced he'll be on the cover of Madden NFL 21 and said he isn't worried about any curses associated with the honor.

He comes back to earth in a big way this coming season and gets exposed. Just like Tebow, Young, Kapernick and all running QB's do.

except that Tebow, Young, and Kaepernick never won the NFL MVP award.

you have been wrong for the last two years, but keep on doubling down on your stupid ass predictions...

two years ago and again last year Steel Moroniac predicted Lamar Jackson would fail and he was dead wrong as he always is.

now after winning the NFL MVP award, all SM has left is the Madden Curse and wishing injury upon LJ
