Kaepernick was Kaepernicked because he just isn't that good... he just isn't worth it. Is he better than Nathan Peterman, and probably 20 other guys holding clipboards right now? Yeah, maybe. But a) He's not that much better than any of those guys and b) he brings significantly more "drama".

Bell is different. a) He is perceived better than 90% of backs today and b) there are a lot of stupid teams as mentioned, who will back up the Brinks to his house.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

            2. He has a ton of touches for his age already.

            3. He’s only finished one season healthy.

            4. He’s one puff puff away from being suspended for a year.

Why would anyone in their right mind give him a Gurly contract now?

            He’ll get a 9-10mil a year contract max.
            1) You don't think other players hang out at strip clubs? I think you need to broaden your horizons a bit. Lying to his Olineman. That's funny right there.

2)I guess that's one reason why Bell hasn't returned is to reduce wear and tear on his body.

3)Injuries are part of the game. The Steelers wanted to pay him so they were not concerned.

            4) That's an inaccurate statement. Check the facts.

            5) Only takes one team.

            6) I don't believe it was about the money per year. I believe the hang up negotiations was regarding the guaranteed money the Steelers offered. Hey 9 to 10 mill per year guaranteed wouldn't be a bad consolation prize.

I don't think the owners "kaepernicked" Kaepernick. Kaepernick "kapernicked" Kaepernick. If Bell doesn't get a great offer, it will be because of Bell, not due to any kind of agreement between the owners, informal or otherwise.

A winner on both accounts. Both players played a game and the first one lost and I expect Bell loses too

By "kaepernick" do you mean that teams recognized that he is a middle of the pack talent who doesn't bring enough to the table to be worth the drama and distraction that he causes?

If Colin K was a top tier QB then he would be playing football on Sundays. No question. Just like Ray Rice would be. Not saying that the two things are equal, but saying that professional organizations are willing to look the other way if the player is that much of a difference maker. Kaepernick is not.

I don't know much about whether it is good or bad to praise Castro (hasn't he been dead for a while?), but I've never read Kappernick supported cap hating, and I guess qualifying as a racist is not always a black and white thing (not the best choice of words! … how about "qualifying as a racist is not always something with a binary definition, it is often subjective to some degree") but I don't remember anything overtly racist that he said. Pointing out the disproportionate # of cops doing the shooting being white and boys doing the dying being black, if true (it is, isn't it?), isn't racist if it's just stating facts, IMO anyway.

Having said all that, it may be better to take this sidebar tangent discussion to the cornfield, I mean "Other - around the NFL" or whatever the graveyard is called, and keep the thread on topic.

                      * OK, I remember, he wore "pig" socks once … that is truly bad in this circumstance, IMO, and if I were an owner I might not want someone like that on my payroll (unless he brought me a SB ring, hi hypocricy!). I wonder if that's allowed, to decide not to hire someone whose views you don't like, if your an NFL owner?

You just wrote a couple of sentences, which are at least somewhat grammatically understandable (assuming "Kaepernick" can be used as a verb), in which the word "Kaepernick" was used in 5 straight times in a row! That's just crazy. Dr. Seuss would be proud.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

There have been 841 people shot and killed by police so far in 2018; 42% were white, 22% were black, 14% were Hispanic, 19% unspecified; 95% were male. Clearly the police are targeting the male population.
