this is rich coming from you.

you predicted that Lamar Jackson was going to be a total flop and bust in the NFL and that the Ravens would never give him a big contract.

incorrect on both counts, and to this day you can't bring yourself to admit that you were wrong.

when you live in a glass house, maybe you shouldn't be throwing stones.

He wasn't wise enough to understand the difference.

Nor was he wise enough to understand that his career aligned perfectly with the decline of the bell cow RB... There was a point where Adrian Peterson was like $20M per and the next guy (Shady McCoy) was making like $10M because everyone in between had been cut for consuming too much cap.

Get as much as you can get, but you also have to understand when the market is collapsing and you're putting yourself in a bad position.

He needed to talk to Franco and Bettis about what life's like after being that guy in Pittsburgh for a decade.
I think he still made a ****-ton of money from the Jets.

And he got to have his "summer of George".

I think he made a mistake financially (and helped the Steelers avoid a financial mistake). But if he's halfway decent with money, it won't really matter to him.

this last line is 100% true. He got more that year, but less long-term. While it would have been a mistake long-term to re-sign him big, had he not sat out, I don't think the decline would have been as severe because of how he was used. His usage in the passing game would have continued to inflate his numbers.
