Because the position has been devalued.

I remember arguing with a poster on here who INSISTED that there's no way Bell wouldn't make up the $14.5 million he missed by not playing for us last season. Now it's clear -- he will NEVER make that up. Bell took a gamble, and he LOST, big time. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I can live with being wrong about it by a few mill in guaranteed money.
I think it will depend on what they are counting as guaranteed.

Remember how Bell and the Steelers had very different gaurantee numbers in the contract?

Maybe those numbers are out and I missed them.

Important to remember that he also walked away from the tag contract t which was also a lot of gauranteed $

It was $10 mill fully guaranteed

the $33 million was a rolling guaranteed figure but he could be cut at any time

More than likely this $35 mill is fully guaranteed but we shall see once the numbers are crunched.

He missed out on 14.5 but we know why. Earl Thomas played last year and had a season ending injury. Risk vs reward.

It’s odd to see people celebrating because Bell signed for up to 61 mill with 35 guaranteed. That’s great money for a RB who didn’t play last year.

That’s the best contract after Gurleys.

Welcome to our ODD Board!! Get use to it.

Bell shot his mouth off and is now playing for the JETS - RB is the easiest position to replace in all of football, especially when you have a TOP 5 OL

I don’t think it’s that easy. We abandoned the run too often late in the season. Hopefully we improve. Also not that confident in Conner’s ability to stay healthy but I do like Samuels.

Earl Thomas had a season ending injury after making a pile of guaranteed money last year...and after his recovery he will make a pile of money again this year.

i agree.. i just want him to deal with that and make a choice... either buy a jets jersey and move to their board... or admit the bell blew it and move on as a steelers fan.

I really think the "52 kids" thing is overblown. Colbert didn't mean it exactly like that. he just meant Ben is the leader. The 52 kids comment was just something Brown was grasping at to try and prove a point. Brown wanted to make Ben a scapegoat but the truth is, Brown wanted more guaranteed money and found a sucker in the Raiders to give it to him.

Brown was bitching when we Juju was voted MVP. He was bitching when we went to Juju for the TD against the Raiders; he was bitching when we went to Juju down the stretch against the Saints. All this was waaaaaay before Colberts "52 kids" comment.

And complaining about a QB wanting you to run a right route? Please. I've seen Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Brady get on their WR's about things. Franchise QB's are the leaders and rules are different for them then the rest of the team. And that' s just the way it is.

Remember when Sherman was complaining about Russell Wilson? Tried to call him out? Look who's still on the Seahawks and look who isn't?
