Terry Bradshaw was reputed to be a "crap teamate" too.
That "other" old dude for the Pats who we can only hope the Eagles stop from breaking our record......crap teamate as well.
DUPREE....now THAT is the kind of teamate you want going into battle!!!

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Please, don't compare Bradshaw to Harrison. Was Bradshaw snoring in meetings? Did Bradshaw leave the stadium because Joe Gilliam was playing?
At any rate, the Pats** can only tie our record this year...and, I wish Harrison well...if he can derive enjoyment from his hollow SB ring with that tainted franchise, more power to him...
Now? JH is just somebody who used to play for the Steelers...I just don't understand why people choose to defend the undefendable...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

I think everyone on our team who helps the guy drafted a year after them is a mentor of some sorts. It’s the NFL. When your time is almost up and they draft younger guys you will either help them or not. If you don’t I think you become expendable. It’s a business but it’s also a football team. We win or lose as a team.
If if you aren’t trying to help the team get better the chances of being shown the door increases.
I just read read a story about Vince Williams being bitter as hell when they drafted Shazier. But once Shazier showed up they had a healthy competition and leaned on each other to make the team better.
JH doesn’t deserve an award for doing what he is supposed to do as a Steeler. Once he stopped and asked to be released we let him go.
JH also doesn’t deserve a parade for jumping on the Pats wagon late as hell. One team called and he signed with them. If he signed with any other team I doubt any of you guys would be acting like he showed us up because he would be at home.Steelers 27

Sure he doesnt deserve a parade for what he did. He also does not deserve the reputation of NOT wanting to mentor when he did it in excess of any of his teammates. To your laast point.....if he werent a Pat it is the haters who would care less.
People arent mad that he acted up. They are mad he is a Pat.
I for one was upset when he was cut......before he spoke to the pats. I was not happy.sigpic

We do agree on the first point...
Perhaps other people are, but I’m not mad that he’s a Pat**. As felt pointed out, they called. I am supremely disappointed in the way that he chose to end his tenure with the Steelers.Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

I'm happy for James. He's my favorite NFL player all-time. He said that he was coming back to get a Super Bowl ring and now he will likely get one. I really don't care if he mentored anyone. He didn't feel that the team did him right and didn't say anything for the majority of the season.
Since the Steelers didn't think that they needed him, he went to a team that did. I wouldn't be shocked if the skill set that he still has is useful against the Eagles. Of course, I don't hate the Patriots as much as everybody else around here seems to (Brady is a Michigan man like me) so perhaps that's part of it.Comment

How many times have I said, "No excuse for Harrison's behavior?" Now how about this -- no excuse for much of what the Steelers coaches did in this incident. You shouldn't lie to your players and treat them like $h33t; that's not any more professional than sleeping in a meeting.Comment

And, again, the coaches jobs are to manage the team, not worry about the hurt feelings of one player...How many times have I said, "No excuse for Harrison's behavior?" Is there an excuse? No...just that they did what they thought was best for the team...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Best for the team to lie to him? Best for the team to disrespect him by not telling him until gametime that he's not playing? B.S.. It's not about "managing hurt feelings." It's about being professional and honest and upfront, and the Steelers' coaches were none of those with JH.Comment

Players get deactivated before every game. Often, I would say, they aren’t warned. That’s just part of the business of a 46 out of 53 active roster. If you’re a backup and you don’t play special teams, you may never be active...Best for the team to lie to him? Fact. However, you would think that you'd treat a team legend better than a kid just trying to make the roster.Comment
