What if you showed up one day, in the middle of a term, and all your stuff was cleared out of your desk, and they told you they'd decided to give your class to another teacher? You love to teach, you'd signed on with their promise that you would teach, and you fully expected to teach. "Stay ready to teach," they tell you, "Because at some point, we'll have you teach." With your considerable experience and abilities, you show up, day after day, but day after day, they have no class for you. But hey, they're still paying you. If you want something to do, they tell you, you can make the coffee and keep the lounge cleaned up.
Be honest -- how would you feel about that kind of treatment from your employer?
