It wasn’t trash talking...it was Burfict’s illegal hit followed up by Pac-Man making contact with a ref...that goes beyond talking...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

      Slapstick,

The reason he hit him was they were in his head. That's the point he is a hothead. They know he is a hot button to push. They even said as much. His melting down throughout that drive is the reason he initiated that hit.

My point is they are cause and effect. He did what he did because he can be pushed. Just like Suh in Detroit/Miami.

So it can make a difference.

Jags were 4-1 in Pittsburgh before this game. It doesn’t matter if we talk or not. Some teams know us and are built to beat us and the Jags are obviously one of those teams.

Has Ben ever had a game without an INT or turnover when playing the Jags? Seems like every freaking time we play them he has a pick 6 or a strip sack for a TD.

Ben played well outside of those 2 plays but man, his stars in the playoffs showed 28 TD’s and 24 INT’s. Pretty sure 5 or 6 of those INT’s are against the Jags.

You can't discount those plays as luck. Against good opponents, a team needs playmakers to make plays and that's what they did. Maybe it wasn't how they drew it up, but clearly how they drew it up wasn't working so well.

This team has struggled with in-game adjustments on both sides of the ball. It starts with the HC saying "we play what we play"....

Anyone arguing this point either: a) has been so far away from athletics that they've forgotten, or b) never played or competed. All we look for (as competitors) is slights, perceived or otherwise. He1l, I used to make up things in my head, just to motivate me even more. Why do you think guys (when they get passed up in the draft) hold onto that for the rest of their lives.

Michael Jordan still holding on to the fact that his HS coach didn't think he was varsity material!
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

No. You're wrong. Players are emotionless robots that cannot be verbally motivated. That's why HCs don't give speeches in locker rooms.

                Hell Shoe,

I perceive slights in my day to day job to motivate me to prove the morons I report to they are flat out incompetent.

If De Castro were such a good lineman why couldn't we run for 1 yard behind him? It's seems we always have had trouble running in short yardage situations. It seems like this Oline is soft.

Ramsey got AJ Green ejected from trash talk
Norman got Beckham suspended from trash talk
There are lots of examples of this

No not at all, I played the game for a long time. The point is there are motivational tools for both teams, winning and losing comes down to execution on the field regardless of who said what before the game. The Steelers brought in Shazier before the game and at halftime for inspiration in the locker room, We were at home with atmosphere on our side and none of that mattered because we didn't execute.

You'll have to ask Haley about that one. I would have been fine with taking my chances, running a quick hitter between he and Pouncey (two perennial pro bowlers).

Me personally, I would have handed it to Nix or run a quarterback sneak, as Ernie mentioned, we'll need to hear from Haley why the wide play and the deep ball (even though JuJu was held and probably should have caught the pass) and not a power run or QB sneak.

Did I see somewhere that they asked Ben about the "QB sneak"... and he replied by stating "They didn't have that play"?

Dan Fouts said it several times during the game... you don't try to beat a young, fast defense like the JAGS laterally. You go right at them.

Yea, in one of the threads it was mentioned that they QB sneak is not in the playbook. I wish Ben would have installed it ad hoc during the game, "ok, Maurkice push that guy back 1 foot, David, you too, give me 1 foot, I'll do the rest."
