I once heard that he can snap the ball with SUCH PRECISION that he has indeed hit a fly of the holders shoulder without the ball touching the holder.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I understand what you're saying but, it's not like we don't have our starters set. And we still have Matakevich and the Fort kid there. What you have to remember is..the type of ILB we can get here, is likely no different then one we can get in round 7, or even after the draft as a unsigned free agent. But as for LS...The very best may go in round 7...but what if we didn't draft him here in the 6th, and say another team snatched him in round 7 before us ? Then the drop off from him to the next guy is a hell of a lot worse then whatever ILB or Edge rusher we could get in round 6, or 7.

I say we get a third guy. You can never have enough elite quality long snapper depth

Does our depth suck at ILB? We have Shazier and Vince Williams as the starters...behind them, we have Tyler Matakevich, Steven Johnson and LJ Fort, all of whom appeared in games for us last year...we also have Arthur Moats, who has started at both ILB and OLB...I'm not overly concerned with ILB depth...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

He was considered a free agent signing guy, and not even a priority free agent. I mean it's the late 6th round so...maybe none of us can get too upset. But finding a LS is about as hard as finding a Smoker in a AA Meeting.

Thats what I'm talking about. A magician.
Nobody can shoot an football backwards, away from the direction your team needs to get, with his skill and accuracy.

I know I cant wait. Might buy preseasoon tickets for the first time to be among the first to witness his magic in a Steeler uniform

yes, because finding a quality long snapper after the draft is much more difficult than finding an actual football player in the 6th or 7th round

No our depth doesn't suck but it can be improved on. We lost our starter, competition would have done nothing but help.

Hey, how bout getting a twofer. Might be nice to get a kick returning corner over a slow receiver in the second.

THAT would help special teams more than getting depth for our EXCELLENT long snapper,

If you don't think that any of the ILBs available can beat one of those guys (Fort, Johnson, Matakevitch), why draft one?
