It's not just about how much more money Ben can make by continuing to play. It's also about how much of his signing bonus he already receivef that he'd have to pay back if he retired before his contract was up. I'll cut and paste this info that I posted earlier in this thread for those who missed it.


If Ben retires now, he would have to pay back $18.6 million worth of prorated signing bonus money already paid to him.

Or he can play in 2017 and make another $12 million in base salary. That's a $30.6 million difference.




If Ben retires next offseason, he would have to pay back $12.4 million worth of prorated signing bonus money already paid to him.

Or he can play in 2018 and make another $17 million in base salary. That's a $29.4 million difference.




If Ben retires two years from now, he would have to pay back $6.2 million worth of prorated signing bonus money already paid to him.

Or he can play in 2019 and make another $17 million in base salary. That's a $23.2 million difference.

Exactly...Ben is signed until 2019 and is due to make 36 million dollars.
He's also due a 5 million $$$$ roster bonus in 2018 and 2019 so that could equate to 46 million.

Ben's net worth is 70 mil. Just thought I'd give everyone a real figure to go by.
