Also this BS that this coaching staff's game planning has been making Ben take a lot of punishment is simply false, Ben's protection has only improved under this coaching staff.
Who said anything about a shambles? Wiz, don't believe me, go listen to Ben's interview with Peter King. There is a reason that Ben said what he said. He's telling you that Tomlin has lost control of the team. He takes veiled shots at Tomlin all in the interview. Shambles is not the word I'd use but then again it's not all peaches and roses are you are trying to indicate.

Ben doesn't want to take the punishment anymore if there is no purpose. That's what his retirement talk is all about. You can't just pretend everything is okay when the Star of the team is telling and saying different. Ben had to go and get some cartilage shaved off his meniscus and trust me, that isn't any fun. I too have hurt my meniscus. And that was behind that line that protected him so well.

But an All Pro WR took a Facebook video on his cell phone showing the team celebrating in the locker room after a playoff victory.

At a time when only network TV cameras are allowed to show a team celebrating in the locker room after a playoff victory!

      Oh Nooooooooooo!!!!!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yeah..no other player in the league is doing anything as stupid as that but the team isn't in a disaray. Oh and your assistant coach is punching out folks too.

Can you imagine how we'd be roasting the Bengals if A.J. Green and one of their assistant coaches did with Porter and A.B. did? LOL

But because it's our team some are having a , " Nothing to see here" attitude. LOL

Bellichick wouldn't allow his defensive coordinator come off the plane wearing a t-shirt depicting the NFL Commissioner wearing a clown nose. He's all about professionalism and discipline, after all.

I wouldn't be roasting them at all, I think both things are irrelevant, but I will roast the Bengals for their 6-9-1 record because I believe that is actually relevant to how the team is being run.

well, im going to retire in the next 2 years making a modest state employee retirement. i have paid for my kids college education and will be able to hand them down a couple hundred thousand dollars in assets when i die. i think that i did my kids pretty good in that regard. my wife will receive my pension once i die. i dont feel the need to risk my life, risk injury or put myself thru the stress and anxiety associated with my job any longer than i have to. i would have to think bens family is set up better than mine right now if he never takes another snap.

Ben can bitch all he wants to the press and give little side digs in interviews but it's HIS team. Ben got away with a lot because we had Hines, Farrior and Bettis in the locker room. Hell, Ben could also lead because he was playing lights out football at that time but now is when Ben needs to make his presence known in the locker room if he is serious about getting another ring.

AB is all talent and hard work but he isn't a leader. Bell isn't a leader for obvious reasons. Those guys are all lead by example ON the field but since Ben is doing all the hollow threats maybe he needs to step up and call guys out directly. If he has then kudos. But Ben can't be in Brady's league if he doesn't want to be the bad guy and put players in their place.

The same people who applaud Ben for not bitching out players in the sideline also applaud Brady for doing it. Which guy do we want in Pittsburgh? Just sayin

IMO Ben and Tomlin aren't built like those 2 *******s and I'm OK with it. I want us to win our way not the Patriots way because that way also involves winning at all cost which means cheating is an option.

I'm actually sick of all this "I bet the patriots wouldn't do this" crap.

F*ck those guys. F*ck that team.

You're satisfied with getting close, good for you.

Yes, Ben's protection has improved, and no, the team isn't "in shambles," and no, the coaching staff isn't "inept" ... but they aren't where they need to be to truly compete for a Super Bowl win. My concern is that too many of the players and coaches on the team are content with what they've been doing and where it's gotten them, and aren't really looking to make the necessary changes.

[QUOTE=papillon;687365]A couple things, you can never have enough financial capital, so I doubt he would think, I've made enough money so I'll retire. Walking away from the kind of money he can make would be shocking.[\Quote]

I know that this is a football forum, so I'll keep it short.

For real people, there is a thing called "enough financial capital". It's between 25-29 times your annual spending (assuming you use low cost index funds from somewhere like Vanguard).

Check out places like: JL Collins Stock Series, or Mr Money Mustache to learn about how you can probably set this up by yourself.

I'm not affiliated with either of these sites, but I read about them in a forum a few years ago and they totally changed my outlook on investing for retirement (in a good way).

If I figured right, Ben has earned over $158 million in his 13-year career. He certainly doesn't "need" any more money than that; his kids and even his grandkids should be set for life.

It's not about being satisfied, it's about being realistic, the team is not perfect but it's definitely trending in the right direction. Also I disagree that we can't compete for a superbowl, we most certainly can compete and win a superbowl with the current cast.
