Arians 'retirement"

no, I'm saying the Harrison play was a great play but it wasn't the play that won the game... if it was, we wouldn't have needed late game heroics.Isn't that exactly what you're doing? You say the decisive points were scored at the end of the second half in that game...I say they were at the end of the first half...you can assume that the second half plays out differently...okay, it does and the Steelers never surrender the lead...the last minute heroics aren't necessary...what decided the game?
it helped for sure but it didn't win the game. I could see if AZ came out frazzled and never recovered but they put up 14 in the blink of an eye to get the lead.
A dominant defense didn't win that game. Harrison ignoring his assignment and making a splash play helped us win but we damn sure didn't dominate on defense in that SB.Steelers 27

One difference, Arians' totals are figured in AFTER they get leads, and AFTER they take the air out of the football.
Haley's totals, include the 11 meaningless, irrelevant, 4th quarter garbage time TD passes in losses that Ben has thrown in four years since 2012.
In five years with Arians? Ben threw only four of them.
So the NEXT one Ben throws, will be the 12th with Haley, three times the amount than he had with BA.
By all means, let's keep playing Professor Faulken.Comment

Yes. And why were the TDs meaningless? Because the defenses on Haley's teams have given up far more points than the defenses on Arians' teams...so, then, we agree...One difference, Arians' totals are figured in AFTER they get leads, and AFTER they take the air out of the football.

Even if you take out all of Ben's "meaningless" TDs, that only accounts for about .6 points per game, indicating that the offense still improved.Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Actually no, they didn't. They scored once in the 2nd, nothing in the 3rd, and nothing again until LeBeau and his 4th quarter prevent that never works let them.
What did I tell you about not watching the games but posting like you did?Comment

Because Haley starts games the exact opposite of how Whiz and Arians did: He wants to run the ball, then they don't score, and, they can't protect the overrated defense the way Whiz and Arians did for 8 years. Add to that the complete nonsense like Haley has in his playbook (James Harrison, Mike Adams, and Alexjandro Villiannueva running pass patterns, etc).
Watch the games, not in the bar, and not only once. If you don't have the Sunday ticket and a DVR? You aren't qualified to discuss the ins and outs of this team. Because that means except for ESPN/NBC games? You only watch a game ONCE, the day it's played.Last edited by Art Rooney II; 06-29-2016, 02:29 PM.Comment

No, we're making baseless assumptions! You're not paying attention again!Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

I do. I just think your opinion is worthless...Because Haley starts games the exact opposite of how Whiz and Arians did: He wants to run the ball, then they don't score, and, they can't protect the overrated defense the way Whiz and Arians did for 8 years.
Watch the games, not in the bar, and not only once.
Then you'll get the point.Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Actually my opinion is right.
And unlike YOU, I don't change my opinion because the OC is from Pittsburgh.
YOU said about Arians below:
Mr. Brown (#84) led the NFL in Bubble Screen routes in 2014 (That's just Brown, that doesn't count the rest of the WR's), in a season where Mr. Haley's offense scored 20 or less points in 9 of 17 games.
And yet somehow, you claim the offense is BETTER, despite scoring LESS, winning LESS, and doing the "predictable bubble screens" YOU claimed to hate, even MORE.
Your opinion is what Art Rooney II tells you it is. Your own words above prove it.Last edited by Art Rooney II; 06-29-2016, 02:46 PM.Comment

And you were told before, any time you or Slap bring me up? That's my invitation from you to post IMO.Well, that exodus lasted almost 12 hours. What restraint you have.
By the way, I didn't call you out. I was calling out the posters here who haven't been banned countless times, informing them that were spouting off the same nonsense that inevitably would always lead to an unwelcome return...and whaddaya know...like clockwork...
It's simple really, don't call me out.
The problem this board has is guys like Slap, Lemming, Ovi, they can bash anyone they choose.
But as soon as someone calls them out? They cry.
Take a good look Ruthless, this board is about 10 people, DURING the season.
That happens when rules/mods are inconsistent and rules aren't applied equally. It destroyed the Trib board (As I told them it would).
As you were told in PMs, I got banned because the owner of this website tried to goad me to reply off topic, and I told him I couldn't do that when YOU Sir, were threatening me with banishment.
So I followed YOUR rules, and got banned anyway.

So again, I'll be on my way. Unless you or Slap open your yaps again.
Good day.Last edited by Art Rooney II; 06-29-2016, 02:52 PM.Comment

But, they aren't scoring less...they are scoring more...they are just giving up more points...
Also, let's talk about the "scoring" and then "letting the air out of the ball"...
Steelers First Quarter Points - 2007-2011 = 4.3 per game
Steelers First Quarter Points - 2012-2015 = 4.1 per game
Not exactly as extreme as you make it out to be, though we were slightly better before...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Nice WarGames reference!
Not sure if this thread qualifies as tic tac toe or global thermonuclear war, but it's getting to the point that everyone should begin to realize that the only winning move is not to play.
How about a nice game of chess?Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

MJlmao... this is exactly what I'm talking about. They hated the bubble screen even though it averaged 5 or 6 yards under Arians but now they have no problem with it.Actually my opinion is right.

Truth is, they hated BA because we are a spoiled bunch. Anytime we reach a SB someone has to take the blame for not going back the next year. Only going to 2 SBs instead of 4? Arians fault.Steelers 27
