Either way - this is a Steeler board, we're in the playoffs! May I suggest you kiss and makeup, or save it till the post-season?

Or my cousin Guido will come by and give his best wishes!
Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hmmm. NOW we see the violence inherent in the system!

the other day, I'm watching college hoops with my wife. My team's up by a dozen-ish with a minute or so left. She's terrified. We're gonna blow it.

A week before, my team's DOWN by 6 with maybe 2 or 3 minutes left.. "the game is over. We don't have time"

man, I'm just messing with Shawn.

but there is some truth in my statement and that's why other people probably chimed in that it made sense.

When Manziel was drafted I thought he could be a problem for us because he was mobile and was pretty dynamic in college. Shawn was also in this camp.

Well, once the substance issues came up I hopped off that wagon but Shawn was still rooting for Manziel to make it and thought he had a chance to be Cleveland's franchise QB.

when Johnny was pulled over after rehab someone didn't want to believe it was possible that Johnny hit the bottle and went to great lengths to debate it for some odd reason.

actually people jumped on either because they don't read completely or because they enjoy chaos. I did like Manziel as a QB but from the beginning put the stipulation of "if he doesn't coke himself out of the league". I'm fully aware of how substance abuse can derail a career. When he went to rehab I was rooting for him. And no of course I didn't want the allegations to be true and I wanted a full story before making a judgment. With that said, we both know that has nothing to do with this thread and you derailed this to F with me. That's fine and dandy but just be honest and realize fans thinking we can win against Denver without Ben, Bell, AB, and Williams are not thinking straight.

                      why wouldn't we believe it?

and no. it wasn't to f with you or derail the thread. If you can root for Johnny to stay clean and not believe the allegations were true why the hell can't we believe we can win without half our team?

and it's pretty delusional to not want to believe police reports about Johnny. Its freaking Johnny dude.

he also said Bryant would be a bum...

these pessimistic posters said it was crazy to think the D would keep Cinci under 20

                        couldnt win without Bell..

said Toussaint and Todman couldn't handle the load vs Cinci.

the game has to be played regardless so why not have faith in the team?

what's the worse that could happen?

Well, this thread is entitled "You are the offensive coordinator" and, as such, I responded as if I were the coordinator and a priority for me if I were in that position is not to think that all is lost, otherwise, why bother, just send out anyone not vital to next year's plan and let them get mollywhopped. I happen to think that if they put together a plan to keep the game close they can compete without Ben and AB. Will it be easy? no Will it be likely? no Is conceding the game because Ben & AB aren't playing a winning plan? no Is there a plan that can work? yes

As I mentioned a punt is going to be a good play this weekend. Force Manning to have to move the ball 70 plus yards as often as possible, he'll make mistakes, he had 17 INTs in what 9-10 games, only 9 TDs, his QB rating is around 68, IMO, he's going to throw it to the Steelers at least once, the Steelers have to avoid responding in kind which might be difficult given the ability of the Denver defense.

Pap, my biggest fear we find that Manning's skills hadn't instantly deteriorated, but, instead, he actually had an injury causing the poor play. Seems more reasonable, but, nobody is talking about it.

that being the case, I worry about a HEALED and well-rested Peyton Manning - ESPECIALLY with as good as their defense is. Even if we had a healthy squad, I argue that this will be the toughest playoff game - and wouldn't be surprised to see Manning get #2, then ride off into the sunset.

The Steelers don't need to be the better team overall...they just need to be the better team on Sunday...kind of like what Denver did to us in January 2012...
