We have a **** defense..a porous secondary...our #1 and #2 running backs out...if Ben and AB are out too? Come on man. Landry Jones is a horrific back up. We would have to get really really lucky to have a shot.I'm glad some of you don't play that's for sure, so the Steelers might be missing some key players that doesn't mean to pack it in, WTH is that? If Ben can't go or is limited you create a game plan working with what you do have at your disposal. Landry Jones has proven that he can play, he simply isn't consistent and hasn't had enough experience IMO. All is not lost if Jones has to play, he's capable, but Haley will have to put him position to succeed. Me, I would spoon feed him easy throws for 2 or 3 drives to get his confidence up and prove to himself that he can handle the offense, a punt isn't a bad play.
You try and keep him ahead of the sticks, penalties (even 5 yarders) are killers, if he gets to 3rd and long (10 or more), take what you can get, maybe your guy breaks a tackle for a 1st, if he doesn't then punt. The Steelers will have to lean on the defense a bit in this game. Manning is immobile and his arm isn't as strong as it used to be, however, he will be the smartest football player on the field. As the game moves forward you give Jones more of the play book as he gets comfortable (if he gets comfortable). Basically, manage the game and get to the 4th quarter with a close game, then anything can happen.
Giving up isn't a game plan.

Honestly, Denver would have to give this game away Bengal style plus. I love my Steelers but I'm not delusional. We have lost too much. So lets hope Brown and Ben start or we can start talking draft. If I was the offensive coordinator, I coordinate with the defensive coordinator, and tell that s.o.b. to draw up a game plan that doesn't let the other team score.
Seriously though, with a limited Ben and no AB, I don't see the Steelers scoring a lot of points. I think the D is going to have to score some points or pitch a shut out to win this one.Trolls are people too.Comment

Giving up still isn't a plan. The defense played well against the Bengals and some other teams this year, no reason to believe they can't do it again against a smart, but physically limited quarterback. Jones, first and foremost has to protect the ball, if that means punting, then punt the ball and play defense, he isn't Ben and will never be Ben, so you devise a game plan in which he can function efficiently and confidently. It may or may not be good enough to win, but I do that giving up will result in a loss.

Denver has not been a world beater, and you are getting a QB with a knack for poor post season play, at less than 100%, having his worst season ever, and has to give everything he has just to get any drive on intermediate throws.
The game is hardly over yet....the might as well not even play the game is an interesting outlook, all things considered. They were a few plays away from being the #5 or 6 seed down the stretchComment

I would have all 3 QB's active for starters. Try and establish a running game along with short passes to RB's, screens, good old bubble screens, etc. I like Todman's quickness on some of those runs in the last game, and would give him more plays. Play a field possession game. Old fashioned type ravens- Steelers type game is what we'll need for a chance at winning. 18-16 type game again. Maybe 19-17.
If we get down a few scores, well then... we're screwed. Call Papa John's for some pizzas.6- Time Super Bowl Champions......

so you think Landry jones can pass on the Denver D? Really? The only shot the Steelers have without Ben and AB is to significantly shorten the game and play complete shut down d with a number of turn overs. Your game plan is to pray real hard for turn overs, try to strip the ball, get aggressive on jumping routes and playing ball control clock eating O.Denver has not been a world beater, and you are getting a QB with a knack for poor post season play, at less than 100%, having his worst season ever, and has to give everything he has just to get any drive on intermediate throws.

Their defense worries me more than their offense, especially with our offense in a weakened stateDenver has not been a world beater, and you are getting a QB with a knack for poor post season play, at less than 100%, having his worst season ever, and has to give everything he has just to get any drive on intermediate throws.

Denver's defense is really good, but lets not act like its an all-time squad.
Tough matchup for a beat up offense, but the chargers with a awful oline, awful run game, and nobody to catch the ball put 20 up on them a few weeks ago. Luckily it sounds like ben and brown will both be out there, but at least theres good blocking up front and some depth at WR if they have to try and limp through another one
And just to be clear, no i dont expect Landry jones to pass on them at will but I dont think its just a lay down and try again next year type of game eitherComment

I just have a gut feeling Ben will play.
I'm a little worried though, my gut feeling is also that when he comes back after injury, it is usually initially as "Bad Ben". We can't afford that on Sunday.
