You are a teacher? Ahh, this makes sense to me.

that back shoulder pass to AB? In pre-season the WR probably doesn't turn around and we just call Landry a bum.
He threw some bad balls but when he got it anywhere near our talent they made the most of the situation. He had one solid quarter. What I hope is that we have our long term back up solution.

Given recent developments, I feel the happy medium would be for Ben to dress, but for Jones to start. It's the Chiefs mind you, no reason to bring him back if he can rest up another week in preparation for Cincy.

I think we have our solid backup...

Landry will throw some bad balls tho, he is a slinger so I expect some bad throws but it looked like the game slowed down for him yesterday. All I wanted was a few first downs to seal the game but with AB and Bryant we have players who can take a routine 8 yard pass to the house.

That 88 yard TD was all Bryant. That kid is amazing.

            yes, I agree...

but I have this strange feeling Ben is going to try and play even though it looks like we might be ok for another week with Landry

why? because if a QB can hit these WR's in stride we will see great things and the last thing a franchise QB wants to see is another QB looking all franchisy.
Jones didn't look "franchisy". He looked good, good enough to help the team. Ben has zero fear of being replaced.

Jones was solid, won't take anything away from him. Shoot, I loved him when we drafted him...and he later lost my love. With that said, I think its kinda like when you go to a movie that is supposed to be horrid and it's decent. He exceeded our expectations but he was helped greatly by Bryant.

We may never see that Landry Jones again....but ill never forget the heroics.

Big difference between a guy maintaining his last opportunity to start in the NFL and a guy with nothing to lose just going out there and letting the ball rip

Someone pointed out that the cardinals game plan was dialed up to beat vick in a big way, all of the looks were classic vick containment looks and he was once again hesitant about throwing the ball

Makes you wonder what would have happened if Vick had not injured himself. The coaches seemed awfully reluctant to pull him. Would we have won yesterday if Vick remained in the game? I don't know. I don't remember the last time I witnessed such atrocious play from a Steelers QB.

I happened to see a highlight clip that showed Ben right after the 88-yard TD. He looked like the happiest man on earth.

The OP said that a franchise QB doesn't want to see his replacement looking "all franchisy". Why would a guy whose job is secure NOT want to see his team win? smh

The OP's premise makes no sense. Ben wants to win #7. For that to happen, we need to have a good record when he returns.

The OP's premise would only make sense in a situation where there is a QB competition for the starting position or where Ben was only interested in personal statistics. Neither could be more distant from the truth.

Exactly, its not like we have Kirk Cousins and RG3 where despite of how much they appear to root for each other, they probably have been rooting for each other to fail behind closed doors.

I have a feeling that Ben really wants to be ready to go for Cincy. Right now we are two games behind the undefeated Bengals, but since we still play them twice, we still hold our divisional destiny in our hands. He'll do more in practice this week than just 7-on-7 scout team work, but he'll still be a limited participant and sit out one more game before practicing in full the next week in advance of his return home to start against a division rival.

The Chiefs' season is falling apart, but they still have Justin Houston and Tamba Hali...which could be a nightmare for QB wearing a knee brace for the first time which limits his ability to move around in the pocket...I think Ben will trust the likes of Bell, Brown, Bryant, and our defense to pull out one more win while he fully recovers for the biggest game of our season thus far on November 1st at Heinz.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This isn't the week to let Ben find out if Villanueva can handle one of the premier pass rushers in the game. Let Landry find out and steal another win at KC. It will also give Ben an idea of what to expect from Alejandro. I really hope he isn't ready to go this week, because if he is you know he'll play.

If hes ready to play why wouldnt he play? I get playing it safe if hes not ready, but if he is theres no logical reason to keep him out
