Wow, Landry Jones is making plays. Jones is showing that he belonged on the team. I know it's early but patience pays off sometimes.

Jones' play rubbed a lot of peoples noses in the ish today. I hope this teaches some fans a lesson.

I know it won't happen but I hope people stop questioning this coaching staff. They are showing this team can be competitive and win games without Ben. That being said, Ben makes the team better.

Funny...what will the Jones haters say now that he performed in a "meaningful" game and not pre-season nonsense. For today anyway the kid deserves all the credit in the world.

So if the coaching staff knew so much why did Vick get brought in and put on the field in 4 days? And continue to get put out there ahead of Jones. And never dress for a single game for over 2 years?

And regardless of of what he did today, he's been hot garbage for 3 years. Anyone saying the "knew" he'd be ok is full of sh!t.

Love the win and glad he provided a spark but let's wait and see what happens before we anoint him Ben's successor.

Nobody crowned him Ben's successor...but, he has officially justified his draft pick and roster spot over the last two and a half seasons...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

                          Yes.
Part of why people wrote Landry off, was because the staff seemed to have such little regard for him in many cases (e.g. going out to find a back-up when he had been there two full seasons prior). Fans can only go by what they see on TV and media.

For me, Tomlin has a lot to answer for. He went out and brought in his fellow Newport News, VA guy in Vick. (Also, lets consider that Vick is a public relation liability with his dog-killer status.) He subjected the team to Vick, who played badly enough to make us 0-3 during this stretch. It is fortunate that we pulled that SD game out of our a$s... but what if we didn't?

We would've went 0-3 and maybe miss the playoffs by a game. If Landry is near as good as he showed today, the cocach has to answer for why he trots out a sorry-a$s convict QB when he already had a better option.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

                            This!

My gripe was that Vick has been playing horrible - and the steelers stuck with him. I defer to the coaches giving a long leash but this was a VERY long leash. And if the guy you have in can't make throws and they guy you have behind him you won't bring in, why have the guy behind him? And these guys are both backups so it's not like you're screwing with the starting QB's psyche.

But landry got his shot today. And it wasn't because Vick threw for only 1 yard of passing. He got hurt.

And jones looks great. Moves the offense. Back shoulder throw to AB. hot read to Heath. Wonderful!

so I'm more confused than before.

None of that matters now. You never know how a guy will play when his number is called until you call it. People say that Landry looked like garbage in preseason. He did. But, in a live, meaningful game, he did not. That is now what is important.

maybe the coaches knew what they had in Landry and that he might show up Roethlisberger. then a full-fledged QB controversy ramps up in the 'Burgh...?
