Yeah... So much growth that when Ben went down they immediately went out and signed a free agent and instantly made him the number 2 over Landry. What a joke. Landry doesn't belong on the team. He was a disgrace in preseason and against a starting D he'd be beyond incompetent.

Jones looked better during this preseason than he did in years past. The improvement he showed was enough for the Steelers to keep him around. Maybe they feel like he has more upside? No one knows how much more Jones will improve at this point. Jones is in a good situation in that he's being given time and the opportunity to learn from one of the better QB's in the league.

There are plenty of players across the league that don't belong on NFL rosters. Sometimes those players improve and sometimes they don't. Sometimes better options are not available until the next draft or three.

Jones did not look better, jones numbers looked better because of the pure volume they made him play

When a guy you pick up off the street, with 4 days before his first game to prepare, and had never seen the playbook nor worked in this type of offense, is a better option than the guy who's going on year 3 with the organization, that's a huge issue. You've not managed the team properly. People speak with their actions, not the sound bites they let filter out to the press. Playing Vick over Jones proves 100% the total lack of confidence they have in him to play in a live game. At this point the only logical explanation is ego or an unwillingness by the GM and/or head coach to acknowledge they got nothing with this pick.

Why would they be unwilling to acknowledge they got nothing from their 4th round pick 3 years ago, when they had no problem waiving their 4th round pick from this year's draft?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Do you have a better explanation? I'm seriously asking. Two years of never being activated for a single game followed by a preseason where they did everything humanly possible to give him a chance to show even the smallest nano-bit of talent and take the 2nd string job leading to a previously unemployed FA QB being given the job after less than week. Why is he on this team? How many years does he get to possibly morph into an NFL talent?

Maybe it's easier to cut a guy after 1 preseason than to admit you should have done it 3 years ago.

The Steelers couldn't know that their top 2 choices to play QB this season would be injured. It's not a huge issue considering Jones is a 3rd string developmental QB. They've managed the team as best the can considering all the factors. What would you had done? Play Jones or sign a veteran with experience that could help the team win games if you didn't have confidence in the 3rd string QB?

Another logical explanation is they feel that Jones can develop into a better player.

How about they don't care what you, me or any other fan thinks or does so why explain anything. What would that accomplish anyway?

I think next weeks game plan should consist of a heavy dose of Bell and a lot more "shots" down field. I don't want to see these sideline pick 6's from Vick. Take some shots down field. If there's a pass interference, great. If it's caught, great. If it's a home run ball, even better. If it's intercepted then it's as good as a punt. If it's intercepted and run back for a touchdown then blame Tomlin.

Yeah, but you have the advantage going into the future to see how these "predictions" turn out. Care to share with the rest of the class what Gray's Sports Almanac says, or will that mess up the space time continuum and make flippy's hand start to disappear?

Landry Jones is an absurdity. Shades of Eddie Gaedel. He does not belong in a Steelers uniform, and is probably the worst QB to ever be on an NFL squad. No one knows why the keep this failure around.

I want to know how many back up QBs in the NFL are capable fill in's let alone able to muster a 2 minute drive to win a game. Think about that one for a second and get back with me.
