He was my first choice but I had zero hope he Would be there. I thought it would be plan B of Johnson or Peters. Surprise..Johnson & Peters off board before Dupree. Happy with pick.

Now...If They could land Williams or Rowe in 2nd...Great Start!

I agree. He was a good pick at #22. Hopefully he can show it on the field sooner rather than later

Squid cant be serious can he?
I mean is he really that dense or just trolling us?
Dupree's production was very erratic in 2014, but he has the intangibles which coaches salivate over. Dupree has the size, speed and strength to be a dominant force at the outside linebacker position, but he is in no way shape or form a finished product.

The Steelers are looking at Dupree to be able to compete on the left side of their defensive 3-4 scheme and be able to get after the quarterback, but for him to be able to do that at the NFL level he will have to greatly improve his technique to match his freakish athleticism. Dupree ripped through not-so-stellar right tackles in the SEC, but when faced with the better tackles in the conference, you saw Dupree's production drop.

This is a pick which combines both need and the best player available approach. A pick which wreaks of Joey Porter and Keith Butler, who both want to bolster the Steelers' pass rush to what it once was, it will be up to the new defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach to get Dupree acclimated to the NFL level so he can help the team in sub package football and obvious passing downs in 2015.

Regardless of whether you stood in the 'we need a cornerback' camp, or if you were the leader of the 'pass rush hides a poor secondary' camp, it is hard to ignore the up-side Dupree brings to the table. You might not know much about Dupree right now, but I have a feeling you will soon enough.

I certainly wouldn't consider him to be an instant starter. He'll be a rotational guy as a rookie (splitting time with Moats on the strong side) and somewhat of a project for Coach Peezy to mold. But he has the raw materials to be excellent once he gets it. It will just take a little bit of time to get him there. I acknowledge that and am still ecstatic with the pick.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Again, I'm not arguing the pick. I'm just frustrated because we have many needs on defense and we are still trying to find the right mix at LB.
I disagree about "cover the pass" and Shazier. I think that is exactly why he was selected to match up with the athletic pass catching TEs we see on the league

This is a great breakdown of Dupree:

I wouldn't mind a that at all, unless Owa Odi was still there.

We just drafted our strong side OLB of the future.

I know you like diggy, but I can't see OLB back to back

we should have a shot at a nice CB in round 2
