LOL. Jones must of borrowed some Teflon from LeBeau because it's never about him underperforming. Last year, it was he looks great in the preseason and then vanishes during the regular season and the excuse is he has to get bigger and stronger. Did he? This year it is "if he didn't get injured" like he was tearing up the league before the injury...not. IMO he sounds exactly what everyone was saying about Worilds four years ago. They also said he had to get bigger and stronger to "stout against the run." Then they said "if not for the injuries." Sounds to me like we got Worilds II only we used a 1st versus 2nd Round pick to get him."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

this is just trolling. I didnt like the worilds pick ever but i certainly gave him the benefit of the doubt. Jones wasnt ready to play last year, and? He was stout against the run and had 2 sacks in 3 games this year. he improves where you say he needs to improve but you fail to acknowledge it....you are basically sick beatsLOL. He is relentless in pursuit, worilds stands there. That alone separates them. Jones is far from perfect, but right now he is a better and more producitve player than jason worilds ever was. First 3 games of the season Heyward and Worilds did nothing but get wiiped out against the run...heyward has improved greatly, worilds has still dont nothing
Ive repsonded twice with posts about how they arent playing the same defense you insist they are playing btw and you didnt answer either, must be because youve created this world in your mind where everything is exactly the same, nothing is being worked on, no player is improving and its all lebeaus fault. Some people have blind loyalty to the steelers or to players but you just have blind disdain for lebeau.Last edited by K Train; 10-02-2014, 03:52 PM.Comment

Absolutley. Created this world in my mind where the Steelers "tin foil" defense gives up huge yards and leads late in games. All in my mind because they are doing so many things different and better as evidenced by the increase in sacks and INTs...really? Any change is minor and even if it was major it isn't working. But that too is everyone's fault except the guy designing the changes. I have no disdain towards LeBeau but I don't play Ostrich and bury my head in the sand and believe because he had a good run from 2005-10 that he has done anything after that. This is the fourth straight year of decline for this defense and the constant is the guy in charge of it. Yet guys like you look for every reason in the world for it to be someone else's fault. Sooner or later you have to recognize that no matter how much minor adjustments are made they don't work and something more significant needs to be done.this is just trolling. See, thats where you dont get it though....adjustments are being made they just havent worked the way they want them to work yet.
The secondary is concerning from a talent perspective, this needs to be masked some how....but they are just making the front seven play like they have aaron smith and casey hampton up front....they are trying a lot of new things, and that is good, and its getting better, but its far from perfect.
Every great coach has had a bad team, or young team, or some sort of team in rebuilding or transition at one point...you just fail to see the changes that are being made because you do have a blind disdain.
Lebeau deserves blame here, he deserves to be questioned, he deserves to take criticsm but you seem to not being able to talk about it rationally...all of your posts can be boiled down to "fire lebeau hes old and sucks" and like i said, just because you add more words into it that is some sick beats/crash territory of idiocracy.
People always think change is the immediate answer and its not, some times you gotta just work through what you have and correct the product youve put out there.
Also, stop rounding up....4 years of decline lol, just like the corners giving 20 yard cushions, and the defense taking 7 years to learn....steeler fans have serious problems with math and rounding. #1 overall in 2012, #1 against the run in 2012, and #3 against the pass.....but 4 years lol
The defense looks COMPLETELY different from back then, with people like you there is just zero tolerance for a transition period. 2 years of rebuilding the defense while the offense has hit its stride is a completely reasonable transition strategy, but just because its not ****ing perfect its no good. Absolutely irrationalComment

LeBeau has tried a lot of different things. He put Keisel and Heyward on the left side and shifted Worilds and Jones on the right side. He's tried his amoeba defense. He used Keisel at ROLB. The put Heyward playing a zero or 1 technique at the nose. He used 3 ILBs at times with Worilds, Shazier and Timmons. The sack with Moats you have Heyward dropping into coverage. Riveria even said that LeBeau surprised him with some of the looks and pre-snap reads that he saw from the Steelers defense. The problem is that he doesn't have the players anymore. Worilds isn't getting it done. Jones is hurt. Heyward is up and down. McClendon isn't a typical 3-4 NG. They haven't drafted him any DBs high. Ike is hurt. Shazier is hurt.
This goes back to Tomberts drafts and not so good talent evaluation. Too many Hoods, Joe Burnetts and Butlers.Comment

This is what happens when you refuse to play your high draft picks off the bat. 1 year...err...half year wonders getting paid huge contracts.Comment

So you believe that LeBeau becomes a deaf mute during the evaluation of players and as a "legend" has no input or impact on what defensive players are selected? He is just a victim of "Tomberts" bad decisions right? Poor ol' coach LeBeau probably doesn't see any of his defensive draftees and free agents until rookie mini-camp. During the draft he is forced to come out and read a script given to him when discussing the players selected because he obviously has no knowledge of who they target and pick. Just another example of how LeBeau has no responsibility for his defense failing. Maybe if he was held accountable things would be different.LeBeau has tried a lot of different things.
