In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Not worried...merely an opinion and statement. Why assume you understand someones motivation to post something on the forums? They brought him in to "help".
If they liked him better than Moats he would have been on the squad already. They would have called him when he flew to AZ like they did Beard.
There is no question Moats starts this week. If he JH winds up starting it will be because he beat Moats out.......the only way that happens is if he impresses greatly in spot duty. Is that not a good thing?
Why does this worry people?Trolls are people too.Comment

Really? Doesn't Jones have 14 tackles, 2 sacks in 3 games along with a forced fumble? Over the course of a season that is 75 tackles, 11 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. Along with that, I watch the guy...watch him get pressure, and watch him be disruptive. Not bad for a second year guy.I will say I liked what I saw in Moats WAY MORE than anything I've seen from Jones. I don't think Jones is physically capable of shoving a tackle to the ground enroute to sacking the QB like Moats did. I was very impressed. Reminded me of the "old guy".
A far greater likelihood is that Moats is held back by the kid because he is a first rounder than Harrison who will have to earn a shot.Trolls are people too.Comment

Actually I can't take credit for that view. I just parrot what people who know the game say.Really? Doesn't Jones have 14 tackles, 2 sacks in 3 games along with a forced fumble? Over the course of a season that is 75 tackles, 11 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. Along with that, I watch the guy...watch him get pressure, and watch him be disruptive. Not bad for a second year guy.

Ummm, I thought the "I hope he is brought in for depth" part implies that one is worried he was brought in to start since the alternative to "depth" is starting.
If you are unconcerned about whether or not he starts......yes you are correct I did not grasp the original point.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 09-23-2014, 02:26 PM.sigpic

Moats did look better that one game. You act like I don't remember what I post. It doesn't mean that JJ isn't having a good season, or that I like Moats (and I quote)..."WAY BETTER". It was less a slam on JJ and more a complement on how Moats played which IMO was impressive. I believe the announcers described Moats explosion as "being shot out of a cannon".Trolls are people too.Comment

No, merely an observation. That's that problem you get when you ASSume.Ummm, I thought the "I hope he is brought in for depth" part implies that one is worried he was brought in to start since the alternative to "depth" is starting.
If you are unconcerned about whether or not he starts......yes I did (and still) do not grasp the original point.Trolls are people too.Comment

My friend I know YOU know what you said.Moats did look better that one game. You act like I don't remember what I post. The point is that "I" saw what you said.
Not only did you say Moats "looked better", you said Jones play was "decent" not exactly glowing tone here. Or did I ASSume that one too?
My comment here that you took issue with are WAY (yes I sad WAY again) more consistent with YOUR comments there than you are here.
Seriously I read your Moats comment BEFORE I saw the game (I was working during) and recalled it when I saw it (said wow Shawn was right I my head). THAT is why find it hilarious that you are taking me to task over a thought you planted in my head.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 09-23-2014, 04:10 PM.sigpic

Well Im pretty sure there is an All-World LB Oak Tree sprouted up somewhere on the campus of Kent State University. And as far as I know, only the Steelers know where its actually located.Moats played well and I certainly hope he far exceeds expectations but there's a reason Buffalo didn't resign him after 2013. By the end of the year he was getting little playing time as he was getting replaced by a younger guy. He was a great, cheap, depth signing. Bringing in a guy who knows the system and coaches and can certainly see at least spot duty as soon as this Sunday is not a bad thing. It's not as if there's an OLB Oak tree the Steelers can go to and pick a starting linebacker off the branch who will be all-world.sigpic
