It's official. He signed today. There's a pic of him signing his contract on FB. Now for the life of me, I don't understand why many of you don't get the depth charts. #92 will be evaluated during practices and however well or bad he produces in practice will dictate where he goes on the depth chart. It's that simple people. Younger guys aren't just arbitrarily put up ahead of another player just because.........you gotta EARN it...

At this point in their careers I like Moats better than Harrison. I hope they brought Harrison in for depth.

They brought him in to "help".
If they liked him better than Moats he would have been on the squad already. They would have called him when he flew to AZ like they did Beard.

There is no question Moats starts this week. If he JH winds up starting it will be because he beat Moats out.......the only way that happens is if he impresses greatly in spot duty. Is that not a good thing?

          Why does this worry people?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I just read on Facebook that the Steelers signed James Farrior to fill in for Ryan Shazier until he recovers.

I will say I liked what I saw in Moats WAY MORE than anything I've seen from Jones. I don't think Jones is physically capable of shoving a tackle to the ground enroute to sacking the QB like Moats did. I was very impressed. Reminded me of the "old guy".

A far greater likelihood is that Moats is held back by the kid because he is a first rounder than Harrison who will have to earn a shot.

Come on Shawn. Read what you just wrote. IF Harrison performs better than Moats, or vice versa, guess who starts?

Doesn't' Daniel McCullers wear #92 now?
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Moats played well and I certainly hope he far exceeds expectations but there's a reason Buffalo didn't resign him after 2013. By the end of the year he was getting little playing time as he was getting replaced by a younger guy. He was a great, cheap, depth signing. Bringing in a guy who knows the system and coaches and can certainly see at least spot duty as soon as this Sunday is not a bad thing. It's not as if there's an OLB Oak tree the Steelers can go to and pick a starting linebacker off the branch who will be all-world.

Not sure he has to. Go to Steelers.com and look at the Roster - they already have James Harrison listed as #92 already.

Since McCullers was never even activated he may not really own that number.

                              This is a GREAT signing!
We all said the same thing about DA BEARD and look how well he's playing.

Jarvis Jones was getting bounced around like a pinball on many plays and his strength just wasn't there this season! James will bring the toughness and even if it's just 50% of the snaps the guy will go HARD and will not be knocked all over the field like Jones.

Moats / Harrison far exceeds Jarvis Jones.

I also predict this will help Worilds out as well! Watch and see I guess

Maybe Goodell will have one more chance to fine James Harrison ?
