Hate to be the one to point this out but none of our posts do any good.

Well Slappy, I did think this was an opinion board. However, I find it an interesting dynamic that everyone who blindly defended Lebeau always wants to shift the discussion when he fails to the other posters versus doing a real critical assessment of his poor performance. Arians and Haley have never gotten that treatment...why LeBeau? Also not sure why you seem bothered by "chest thumping" because does it really matter? Is that really an issue on a message board...really????

Ah, so it appears that I struck a nerve here...I figured it would hit a bit to close to home for some people...

At any rate, what Shawn said is true and the opinions posted here are effectively moot...

Furthermore, what Ovi said is also true...it is an opinion board on a public forum...it is meant for opinions....

Just don't get angry because I call it like I see it...there is a difference between pointing out an agenda and discouraging freedom of expression....

Agendas typically have an end state in mind. Since no one on this board can influence what the Steelers do how in the world can it be an agenda. What ability does anyone have to change or influence the change of anything? It's an opinion medium. By saying there are agendas you start to sound very Oliver Stone-like.

I was thinking the same thing: How do ANY of our posts "do any good?" This is a message board. All we do is express opinions and if some of us want to point out that we were right, there is nothing wrong with it. BTW, I was right about LaBeue and how it's time to go and smell the roses. Hye Robin Cole, are you still practicing law?

                    this includes you as well...

Why is it so hard for you to let us discuss the D without pointing out the O's shortcomings?

If you have a post about the Offense looking weak I would say the same to anyone trying to use the D as an excuse for their woes.

I know football has 3 phases but it's possible to critique one side of the ball without using the other to shield it from criticism.

Here it is, in a nut shell. As I was watching other games, something jumped out at me: I see a lot of games being determined by DBs making pics. With the Steelers and LuBeae's "philosophy" making pics seems WAY TOO LOW on their priority list, and that is freaking moronic, especially in this day where hard hits are almost completely illegal. Ryan Clark's infamous quote about hard hits being considered better plays than pics is highly enlightening as to what this team's thought process is. It's over. You can't determine a game via hitting for the most part. You have to get some flippin' turnovers and sacks, and we ain't getting either. And it's obvious, to me at least, that even when it comes to the draft and free agency, they place CBs way to low on the priority list. So we went heavy on DL and LB the last few drafts; how is that working out for us? Tell me the difference Jones, Shazier and Heyward and Tuitt are making for us?

Did you see the game Kyle Fuller had for the Bears? TWO pics, that changed the game. We simply have NO ONE like that at CB. No one. And it seems the "game plan" is to just keep using low round draft picks, and virtually no mid or high level FAs, to address the position. They have maintained their philosophy that CBs who can make pics aren't necessary. Do you know how freakin' moronic that is?

Bottom line: This team is operating under FAILED policies and they are too arrogant to admit when they were wrong, leading to three years in a row of zero progress. You know what they say about doing the same thing and expecting different results? It is the definition of insanity. That's precisely what we are dealing with. By the way, if they continue on the same path, Carolina is gonna rip us limb from limb. That D is for real; it's exactly the opposite of the current Steeler D: you can't rush the ball on them, every pass is contested, they get pressure on the QB nearly every passing play, they play aggro aggressive all game long. Us? We play timid, get no QB pressure, allow for gaping runs and have people wide open all over the field all day long. Just wait and see.

Until this team gets some BRAINS in here to grasp how to make better decisions, nothing will change. LuBaea is pushing 80. You think fresh ideas come from an 80-year-old? Our front office and coaching staff is more concerned about protecting their ego than making sound decisions. It's obvious.

I don't shield any unit from criticism...I merely point out my opinion where the criticism should be directed...

Struck a nerve? Hell no, not with me. I will proudly thump my chest when I am proven right. Big deal. It's a message board. Would I engage in chest thumping in the real world? Not so much. But I have been expressing that our whole "system" is broke and Labuee is kind of the figure head for a lot of what is wrong with our team "game plan" for a while now. De-valuing the CB position, having a system in place that is so complex, that just saying the actual play takes so long that the players are not in position when the ball is snapped. Think that might be a problem? I do. Being overly complex is horse turds, especially when all that complexity no longer tricks the opponent as much as it confuses our own players. Just think about that. I would much prefer a system that allows players to not need to think so much, but rather, just react in an aggressive fashion. The fact that our system doesn't allow for that is pathetic, moronic, idiotic, ego-saving-based and embarrassing.

Sick beats your last two post is money. Matt Williamson pointed out some of the same things a couple of us have been preaching. Saying the front office really picked some players he really liked coming out of college and that DL should start receiving blame for the team play. Everybody sees it with the exception of the front office and some fans.
