Can we finally place some blame on Lebeau's D?

Talk about a joke of a defense. They have given up 50 points in the last 6 quarters and teams are running to the 2nd level untouched...

No more excuses... this is not Steeler football and no one is scared of our D.

I also really, really think we need a legit NT if we are going to stay in this 3-4. We used to force teams to protect their QB but now we are cool with letting them put us in nickel and running the ball down our throats.

I think it's time for DL to retire. The game has passed him by.

It's the players fault, Tomlin's fault and Colbert's fault. LeBeau and the defense are legendary and just fine.

after last night I don't see how anyone can defend this D.

First play of the preseason set the tone for this D. We are horrible against the run.

NT, NT, NT... without a legit NT there is no need to run his version of the 3-4.

If we keep waiting for the next Casey Hampton then this defense will continue to suck. Twenty other teams are looking for the same thing. Need to do something different.

Looks like the game has passed everybody by. Including those who aren't "pushing 80". Did the O-Line look much improved under Munchak last night? Either he can't see that Gilbert stinks, or he has no better alternative. Think on that. Haley made some mystifying calls. Granted, the fumbles didn't help. But running a reverse or end-around to the short side of the field is the sort of call that would have provoked outrage if Arians had done it. Ben didn't look so hot either. At least four bad misses. And so on. Either the game has passed them all by or we don't have the talent.

The offense scored 6 points and turned the ball over twice.

The defense wasn't any better, though....
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

LOL. At least you're consistent, Jigawatts.

See; his theory was (I assume) that nobody would dream that we'd run that to the short side; therefore, we'd catch 'em flatfooted. That approach actually has worked at times.

I watched our Defense closely last night. I havent played organized football since High School, so I'm no expert. WTS, NT is not our only concern. Heyward doesnt look like the guy from last year, although he is still our best lineman. Cam Thomas is a joke 95% of the time he plays. Tuitt is lost in the trenches. Keisel is ok, but his age is showing. Jason Worilds....His play thus far has me sick to my stomach. He was pancaked by a TE (81). Jarvis is a little better than last year, but it's mostly just knowing his assignments, making a play is still wishful thinking. Timmons is obviously struggling because everyone else is and Shazier looks overwhelmed at times.

This is a huge problem and thinking they will start to gel is also wishful thinking. To be competitive, this D will have to do a 180 performance wise and I'm not very hopeful that will happen any time soon.

Heyward and Worilds have done nothing for me this season and heyward is my BOY

Jones is very stout against the run but no one gets any pressure and theres not a single exception

Mcclendon has been the best dlineman so far this year, it sucks seeing him have to run 9 yards down the field to tackle a RB, but thats not on him....not a single guy on the left side of the defense can bust through a zone block it seems.

First down is the achilles heel right now, way to many 8-9 yard plays given up on 1st down, they played decent on 3rd and long

Some of us have already been talking about it for about 3 years now. LeBeau has to go. And I don't want to hear any excuses for him. The Steelers can't stop the run...and they have 3 first rounders and a second rounder at linebacker. They have another first rounder at DE. Other teams do MUCH more with MUCH less. And as bad as our secondary is right now...it's not being helped by the fact they have to be frozen on PA. When a team is gashing you...it handcuffs the secondary...making a weak spot even weaker. How could do so little with so much?
                              Trolls are people too.
