Steelers back up tight end/fullback David Johnson signed his RFA tender according to rotoworld. Johnson will make $ 1.26 million this season. He will now be fighting for playing time with Leonard Pope, Weslye Saunders and Will Johnson. Johnson has been the teams main fullback in the past few seasons. Will Johnson may take that role this year. With the signing of Leonard Pope, Johnson must have thought it was time to get into offseason programs to keep his job.
I am not nor have I ever been a fan of Johnson. He is not a good blocker and he is no threat in the passing game other than teams forget about him because he never does anything. He will be here for this season and that may be it.
