The AFC Playoff Seeding Scenarios are easily represented in the below grid. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, it’s quite simple.
Summary:
- If the Steelers win and the Patriots lose, the Steelers are the #1 overall seed in the AFC. This is only the scenario where the Steelers can obtain the #1 overall seed in the AFC.
- If the Steelers win and the Patriots win, the Steelers are the #2 overall seed in the AFC. The Patriots will be the #1 seed.
- If the Steelers lose and the Patriots win, the Steelers are the #2 overall seed in the AFC. The Patriots will be the #1 seed.
- If the Steelers lose and the Patriots lose, the Steelers are the #2 overall seed i the NFL. The Patriots will be the #1 seed.
It certainly looks like the AFC Championship will be going thru Foxboro again this year.
